I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through, Fatstrat, and your pain, Don.
We need rain as well. The beans are coming in but not nearly at the moisture we want them. Rain might as well wait until after harvest, though. It's sunny and warm today, and I'm preparing to use the smoker for possibly the last time this year. Today, it's pork loin.

Mornin'..... Pains and saddens me to report that I am sitting here at home this morning, not making it to Dodge City to church. Was scheduled to play another solo piece too, another new original arrangement. Was going to go back to Cimarron to look again at houses. The pain part comes from evidently being in the process of passing a kidney stone of undetermined size that keeps me running to the head about every ten minutes to pee a few drops. OW! The sadness comes from not getting to see Shay. With the exception of maybe a 3 second exchange Wednesday night, that means I have to endure three weeks without seeing her. Almost unbearable..... On the brighter side (gotta keep looking for those) it is overcast and we're getting more rain. This will bring our two day total to close to an inch of desperately needed moisture. I think I'll go get some more coffee and console myself with the Goodall. .................. ;D Yikes, I hear that is painful. Hope it gets better soon.

Back home now. Dad still hanging on. But starting to be in pain. Possibly from organs shutting down. Hated to leave, but had to. Work goes on and can't take leave on uncertain timelines. We have an in home care giver looking after him that will call if need be. Hospice will be contacted tomorrow.

that's a tough time, Fatsrat. I haven't been there with my parents, but I've been there with my mother-in-law. Hospice is the right way to go, and I hope things go as comfortably as the can for all involved.
