Hi t-bob. That's interesting - I was under the impression that his original album sales were pretty low even in the UK. Can I ask how you knew of him back then? Were you in the States at the time?
Anyone wanting to take a chance on a Drake album could do a lot worse than getting 'Way to Blue', by the way.

Had a couple of friends who moved to London after high school, and they kept us informed of new folk/rock talent. A college buddy from England also told me about him. And there was a fine record store in Westport, CT, The Record Hunter, run by a cool guy named Jay Flaxman, who found Nick's first album for me. I think I paid over 10$ for it. Also, some of the Fairport Convention and Pentangle people backed him up on his albums, and I was well aware of them.

We are definitely fans around the house here. Good stuff; stands the test of time quite well.

Somehow Nick Drake slipped under my radar for years, but I love his stuff.

Heard recently that John Martyn's classic "Solid Air" was written for/about his friend Nick Drake.
