So, I'm finally starting to record some songs I wrote. The digital recorder I'm using spits them out as WAV files. Anybody have any information about sites (hopefully free) that I can upload them to so I can release them on the internet for the consumption of humans and other sentient creatures?
Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

Yeah, I've used Soundclick for over 3 years now and I'm totally happy with it. And it is free. I believe that you can pay to upgrade to a different membership and I'm not sure what that gets you.
A WAV file tends to be big, so if you have a way to convert to mp3 or record in that format, that would be good.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to look into converting the WAV to MP3 files. I think I can do it when I get to the burning CD phase of the operation.

I was just at Soundclick. Not really interested in this myself, but you can apparently make money by charging for downloads of your songs. I do "stream only," so don't know the details.
If you care about ratings, some of my songs never get rated because they're not big enough files. That happens when it's just one track of guitar and vocals. Guess I could record WAV files and maybe get on the charts. Or stretch out the song to make it a big enough file.
