Off to the weekend races. Baking a cake later today for son's birthday, just 34 days late. Typical here. Don't think we have an un-delayed holiday, except perhaps New Years Day, and I'm not entirely sure about it. Enjoy the day, and the weekend (If Applicable). ;D Three people gone, eh? Don't know much about Gibson Girl, but JohnB and PaulS? Man o man.

Back out in the shop. It's still WINDY here. I'll be curious to see how much wind damage there is around here when it gets light out. I'm going to have a day of porcelain jars and bowls.
Dar's still in Lafayette. She'll have two agility trials, hoping to add to Breeze's masters tally (he needs ten qualifying runs to score a masters title. He just started, so he's only got two Qs so far. He'll probably finish up his masters title some time next year because Dar can't afford the time and $$ to run him often).

Three people gone, eh? Don't know much about Gibson Girl, but JohnB and PaulS? Man o man. Gotta echo Evan on this.....what are we talking abut here? Mornin'..... Up earlierish. Coffee is very good. Heading down to Fowler after a while for another workday. Finally getting visibly closer to wrapping up stuff at the other house, and have another family waiting in the wings to move in.

Good morning. Rainy day but warm. Had to pick the wife up from work at midnight due to heavy fog but it beats tornadoes. Stay safe out there.

Good morning. Sorry about the departures and I hope they're temporary.
Diane and I are going hiking for most of the day with friends. It's in the 40s and should reach 74, so it should be very pleasant. Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Had my last cigarette 10 years ago today. Don't think I'll be smoking today ... but that thread over there still is. Yikes.

Coffee is made. I'm up but everyone else around here is still snoozing. The Doxies and I went for a early morning walk in the pre-dawn, then they ate and went back to sleep. Katie says that Clara, (the short haired weiner dog) should be my spiritual adviser. I'm beginning to think she is right.

No way I'm reading 9 pages of kerfuffle. Two of my favorite people. Who cares where each of us may be on "the grid"? I sure don't. I do care very much how folks treat one another.

Good Morning Good People
Light snow on the Third Coast this morning.
Quite troubled about the events of yesterday here at the SoundHole ranch.
An eventful weekend to end an eventful week. Not only did I quit my job, our 23-year-old son (finally) moved out. Gonna miss that kid -- he's fun to have around and easy to live with, albeit noisy at times. I think the sadness Dawn and I are feeling is increased by the length of time he remained at home; many kids are out of the house at 18, never to return. It's time he moved out, but Zack is our kid and we are normal parents. (We'll still see him a lot -- food, laundry and automotive repair are big draws back to the home place)
Our forthcoming granddaughter makes her forthcomingness more apparent every day.
Major event for today is a journey to Elderly for a clawhammer banjo workshop with Cathy Fink, a notable folkie. (It warms the cockles of Dawn's heart to think of her husband playing banjo more often...)
Have a peaceful winter Saturday one and all.

Although it may be all for the good, Tamarack, such life changes can be stressful. Playing some banjo should be good therapy.
I tried weeding the garden yesterday in preparation for planting. The wind was cold and fierce and I only lasted an hour. Today is better, but I don't have much time. Going to a 90th birthday party and a concert. If not for taking a season off from my chorus, I would be in the concert. Strange to not be a part of it, but it will be fun to be in the audience for a change.
