I'm sitting in a Starbucks in San Rafael, CA and this guy across from me is playing a Swiss harp zither. Took a picture with my phone and hopefully I can get it up here. Looks old! They've been made since the late 1700s. This one 1956. Not the one I took. But exactly like it.

It sounded great, Todd. Huge sound, also well played by its owner, Mickey something or other. He opened for a bunch of famous musicians in Seattle back in the 80s. I could have easily seen him then.
That last YouTube was fun. Dueling Swiss harp zithers played by old fuckers. The music was reminiscent of Ry's sessions with the Cubans.

Did you ask the player whether he was the 3rd man?
These used to be played often in Chicago's German restaurants. I always looked forward to hearing them.
