Top of the morning (bottom of the night) to to all you creative folks: pickers, strummers, singers, chefs, artistes, recording specialists, et al. We are quite the un-e-q group, yes? And a fond greeting to those who have left Isle Be Damned, for whatever reason or purpose. And since I am insomniaced tonight, think I'll watch an episode of The Borgias, delightful debauchery, anchored well by Jeremy Irons, and a fine supporting cast. It's definitely worth a look.

Didn't sleep for crap last night. I'm going away for another year and the guys I am working for in Afghanistan can't tell me what I'll be doing. That, my friends, is an insomniac's nightmare. I'm sure I'll figure it out when I get there.

Good morning.
Paul, they'll find something for you to do and you'll do it, just stay safe over there.
Average, for me, golf yesterday. Like Tiger I'm changing my swing. When it works it works great but it doesn't work often enough yet.
Today, I understand we're hunting for batting for the quilt Mary's making for the kids 'cause she can't find big enough on-line. Then, since it's supposed to be warmer today i'll get back to power washing the place. I need a day off from golf.
I still have a few thousand tadpoles in my pool cover and when I researched last night found that it takes them 3 to 5 months to turn into toads and leave the water. That's a problem. I don't really want to kill them off but I do want to open the pool this month. I have nowhere to relocate them, if that would even work.

Morning. Ya gotta love it: "A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor Guitar. During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for YouTube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded: "Good luck with that one, pal." So he posted a retaliatory video on YouTube. The video has since received over 6 million hits. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal." Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has led to a sharp increase in orders." Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=5YGc4zOqozo

G'mornin' - A night interrupted again by wakefulness, might as well put it to use.
Bruce, obviously your pool cover is the ideal environment for the threatened specie of Chesapeake toad. You'll never be allowed to uncover and will be over-run by toads, until the herons find out, good luck

I had a bad feeling when there were 90 seconds left and the Caps were trying to eke out a 2-1 victory. Sure enough a high stick and a double minor and the Rangers put one in with 6.6 seconds left to send it in to OT and then start OT on a power play and win the game quickly. At least they spared us from multiple OT's.

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and cool again. Haven't seen the sun for a few days and we're all beginning to look pale.
Desk work today, sending one of my partners out to extract a job from a former client. I gotta stay on the sidelines so it doesn't look like I am interfering with my ex-company's client (I maintain that there is no existing contract with my ex-employer)
Bruce -- have you considered releasing a few largemouth bass on your pool cover?
Have a tangible Tuesday one and all.

Good morning... we had the sun yesterday. Unfortunately, it was just a quick stopover, it's gone again. If anyone sees it, please send it back. It's a big yellow thing. No questions asked, just send it back.

Bruce your pollywogs have nothing to eat, except each other. You might scoop the majority of them up with your long handled scoop used for retrieving items from the pool and deposit them in a bucket to be emptied in the nearest pond or marsh.

Save at least a couple tadpoles. Toads make great house pets. Undemanding, cute, keep the fly and mosquito population down, and, after enough scotch, they make great conversationalists.

Live tadpoles are a great bait that can work in all types of waters to catch a variety of fish including bass and crappies. Whilst ht tadpoles may not be native to a specific water this doesn’t seem to stop the fish eating them, although this may be down to the inquisitive instincts that are borne into many different species of fish. As someone who is still not so happy about having heard a mother squirrel keening the loss of her baby after watching a hawk raid the nest, I do understand your dilemma, Bruce. (LOL about releasing a bass!) Awesome story about the "consumer victory", Roy! Speaking of releasing things into the wild, Mr. Hammond exited about a half an hour ago to migrate north. We had a great visit over lunch with Paul K. (he and I had not met before so I was happy to check off another SH friend "met"). Bill is too antsy to just sit and talk so I dragged him along to run some errands with me in the afternoon. He begged off my stop at Michaels since that establishment is apparently a hotbed of allergens. He did find a "treasure" at Target though. My duo partners past and present both arrived around 5:30 after which we dined and then retired to the lower level for several hours of music-making. Fun night with great people. Today's agenda includes a dress shopping mission with my daughter to find attire for Ella's baptism this Saturday. Last night was a short night of sleep so after shopping today followed by a couple of hours of music practice tonight I will be ready to crash! Have a great day, friends.

Bruce your pollywogs have nothing to eat, except each other. You might scoop the majority of them up with your long handled scoop used for retrieving items from the pool and deposit them in a bucket to be emptied in the nearest pond or marsh. Wish I had a nearest pond or march, other than the salt marsh around here. It's been so dry the ponds are dried up, which is probably why the toads decided to use the pool cover instead of their normal ponds. When the pool is open, I generally find a few toads, some frogs, in the skimmers every morning that I net out and deposit over the fence, so they're familiar with the pool but there's normally a pond half a mile from here where I assume they really live. It's dry now. As to food, there's algae in the pool cover and some mostly rotted leaves. At this point I think they eat algae. The pool cover is drying up too but it's supposed to rain tonight which will help them out. Then when I get a chance I'll start scooping them into a bucket and figure out what to do with them. This didn't happen in the past 4 years so I figure it's the dry conditions that brought them here.
