Happy Mother's Day to the mothers here.
Got the pool cover off yesterday, mostly cleaned up including the planters that will get their new flowers today. Our deal is that Mary's not my mother and I'm not her father so there's no real obligation today but we generally get the plants on Mother's day so that's the plan. I'm sure my son will check in sometime today which is his obligation. My mother's been gone for 16 years now but I do miss having someone to call.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Morning. Happy Mother's Day. I'm going out for a 70 mile ride for breakfast in a minute and the weather promises to be near perfect for such a ride. A little chill in the air right now but that just means it won't get hot.

Lots I could do today but not much of it will get done. Grandson Sam(13) is staying with us for a week so he will get to see Juber tonight, Sam is into electric guitar so this should be a treat and a introduction into what a good acoustic player can do.

Mornin'.....
After playing for one service this morning, taking Mom to dinner at Montana Mike's.
Everyone will be sore and tired from yesterday's work. We stripped the siding from the old garage and that was all it took. Dropped it to the ground. Looks like an old basement house now. Photos if I can get them off of Shay's iPod.
Just slightly envious of your upcoming evening with Juber, Marty.

Good Morning Good People
Sunny with a light breeze. A perfect day for sailing, if I wasn't a responsible husband, father, grandfather, and churchgoer (and if I owned a sailboat -- heretofore I have relied on my father and brothers to own sailboats and make them available).
Off to church -- we are taking Lola to show her off -- thence to brother-in-laws home for a Mother's Day extravaganza.
MNHermit -- thanx for the historic updates. I should note that Magic Dick is most noted for "Whammer Jammer" which delighted college boyz in the mid-70s with what a blues harp could do.
Thinking of Mizz Resolve and Mizz Ella today on the occassion of Mizz Ella's baptism.
Have a marvelous Mother's Day one and all.

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day. I served at our 7:30 service. Before long I'll start making lunch, as Diane gets all food and clean-up duty off on this day. Enjoy your day.

Here's to the Mum's and the motherly. An interesting little bit of history I read today - Mother's Day Proclamation by Julia Ward Howe*, 1870 The First Mother's Day proclaimed in 1870 by Julia Ward Howe was a passionate demand for disarmament and peace. Arise, then, women of this day! Arise, all women who have hearts, whether your baptism be that of water or tears! Say firmly: "We will not have great questions decided by irrelevant agencies. Our husbands shall not come to us, reeking with carnage, for caresses and applause. Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn all that we have taught them of charity, mercy and patience. We women of one country will be too tender of those of another to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs." From the bosom of the devastated earth, a voice goes up with our own. It says, "Disarm, Disarm!" www.wagingpeace.org/articles/0000/1870_howe_mothers-day.htm

Morning. Happy Mother's Day all the rest of you. Beautiful classic May day here. Lawnmowers whining away, birds raiding the feeder. Morgan carried a folded blanket out to the garden for a pillow.
