Damn, damn, damn. We've got a family wedding in Nashville on Saturday Oct 13. We'll be down there till probably Tuesday. I entered the Bloomingtunes Song Contest. But haven't heard if I get a lucky finalist selection or not. But the finals are on Sat Oct 13, so there's no way I can be there for the live show anyway. *sigh*And Folk Alliance Region Midwest is in St Louis the 11th trough the 14th. So, this wedding takes me out of that too. I'm quite happy for my nephew getting married. This is a pretty primary family event. So, the family trump card has been played. Nothing else shall interfere. Wish I'd be in Chicago for you. Wish I could go to Bloomingtunes, iffn I get a selection. But looks like I'll be AWOL. PS - I'm thinking of going to the Blueburd Cafe Open Mic on Monday the 14th; seeing as we'll be in that town. We'll see if another trump card gets played. Well Marshall, if it makes you feel any better I think the Chcago leg is dead. The Hard Rock's are notoriously sub-par venues in a number of ways and it looks like they've bailed on the "songwriter night" format that we were going for. That makes the rest of it not worth the expense (they were going to pay us, now they're going to let us split the door with someone else. That means no money.). By the way we've got friends that have just moved to Chicago that were going to put us up. Didn't really want to add to you burdens with the current family situation. But the good news is we're still locked in in Indiana Friday and Saturday although I guess Christal doesn't know anything about what she's judging until she gets there. The Sunday at Chateau Thomas may also be back on. Not sure how wineries work in that end of the country, particularly if they're competeing for attention opposite Andrew Luck. But we'll see. |
