It appears that in both cases that a member of John Q Public caused the accident, though there was a breakdown in procedure at the entrance in the second incident.
I've been once to a gun show and, at least in that case, they ran a very tight ship.
I'm sure it happens at all of those shows, right?

5 out of 6 or 5 out of 6 million? Makes a difference.

Going to a Gun Show today and I can assure you EVERY weapon brought in will be checked and secured by someone at the door. Handguns will be secured with a cable tie through the chamber and barrel or by locking the hammer down. Rifles and shotguns will be inspected, clips and tubes removed. Loaded clips or mags are not allowed, period.

Obviously, these "accidents" were "false flag" operations engineered by the Obama administration in an attempt to garner support for taking away guns. I'm surprised people are too stupid to see that.
Seriously, though, were it not for the fact innocent people got wounded, the incidents would be funny. It was hard to suppress a laugh while reading about them.

I'm with you all the way on the Obama connection. When I read that he was behind the Connecticut shootings so that he could create mass hysteria and thus repeal the second amendment, I knew that having a Muslim in the White House would be the death of free Americans and our God Given right to shoot shit up.

I do hope people know I was joking. Except for the laughing-about-the-accidents part. And as a Muslim myself, I can assure you Obama isn't Muslim

I got the joke. My reply was based on Facebook posts and YouTube videos.
There are people who actually believe it.

You do meet a wide range of people at a gun show, both ends of the spectrum.

Frankly, if the only people in danger from idiots being stupid with guns were other gun owners, I wouldn't care about them. But there's too many idiots like this out there: And this guy: Joseph Kelley, Utah Man, Takes Rifle To J.C. Penney To Show Guns Can Be SafeWhy does he have guns at JC Penney? "He said he carries weapons with him in order to protect children and others from "criminals, cartels, drug lords" and other "evil men." " Riiiiiiight. He went looking for drug cartels and drug lords in JC Penney! Where they are known to shop. And if you'll observe, the way he's carrying that AR-15, he's pointing it at everyone around him as he turns and walks around.

And Utah is a well-known hotbed of the Bloods, Crips, the Zetas drug cartel, the Sinaloa cartel, et al. There's a thug on every street corner in that state.

In other news, a sudden rise in baseball bat accidents have resulted in multiple cases of bruises and in one tragic case, a broken window.

A lot of those people were firing weapons they had not been instructed on how to handle properly.

Every gun owner is a safe and smart gun owner until they aren't. People make mistakes. They forget. They get drunk. Crap happens. I'm pretty sure lots of people who have been properly trained still have accidents. One of the guys in that video was a cop who accidentally shot himself in the leg while giving a gun safety talk at a school.

"Frankly, if the only people in danger from idiots being stupid with guns were other gun owners, I wouldn't care about them" I own more guns than the average American but I really believe if an accident happened to me and I was injured or killed that you would care.

One of the guys in that video was a cop who accidentally shot himself in the leg while giving a gun safety talk at a school. Part of our gun problem is that every gun owner is NOT a safe gun owner. People tend to take gun ownership as a right but fail to respect that right as a very serious responsibility too. The trained gun owner is just as dangerous as the untrained one if he/she is too casual about the responsibility of owning/handling a weapon. The Police Officer states that he is the only one in the room qualified to handle that Glock, then promptly shoots himself in the leg. Why? Because he racked that weapon when there was no need to do so, he was showing off, too casual an attitude.

Right. Same thing could get me killed when training a new person on high-rise work. Our industry safety authority tells us that accidents tend to bunch on either end of the spectrum: The youngest & greenest on the one hand and the older experienced journeyman on the other.

Yes, you might get hurt while training someone in a dangerous situation. But YOU decided to go into that dangerous situation and you decided who to go into it with. YOU might get hurt, but I won't, or any other bystanders.
In contrast, how do I avoid the idiot who thinks its his mission to teach the unwashed masses that guns are really safe by taking them into a shopping mall? Or if my neighbor is an idiot who is cleaning his gun and foolishly discharges it, everyone in range is in danger.
This is why gun ownership represents a different type of threat to the general population than, say, swimming pools. If you get drunk and go swimming, you might drown. But I won't. If you and I get in an argument in a bar, you aren't going to go to your car, get your pool and drown me in it. If you become emotionally distraught or insane, you aren't going to get your pool and kill everyone in a school or mall with it. All those things are possible with guns.
