Don, I just looked at your hotel, and you are right down by the Plaza. There are, oh, twenty restaurants within walking distance! You are also right next to the Kemper museum, and the Nelson-Atkins isn't too far to walk to either.

G'mornin' - I'm still getting used to writing 2013 and it's almost next year. Life one day at a time is just too fast, I think I'll slow it down to half a day at a time, or maybe a quarter day.

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and quite windy. Leaves that have been hanging on a very long time are coming down.
Lots of desk work.
Have an awesome All Saints Day one and all.

Good morning. Sleeping was an on and off thing. I must learn that I can no longer handle chile peppers the way I once could.
It's 50, headed for the low 80s. No complaints. Have a good day.

mmmm .... donuts. My last bike was a '78 R90 ... still going strong with 96K miles when I sold it. It was quite the small town Halloween yesterday. Businesses had candy tables out on the street with a lot of the folks dressed up. Surprisingly large turnout of kids for a town of 750 and a county of 6000. Fun. Don't know if you can see this as it's from Brian's FB page but here's one of his two identical BMW's with an unusual passenger

In the early 50's my best friend's dad had a big BMW. Probably 1953 or 54. They used to drive it to Canada or Mexico on trips. That was only 8 or 9 years after the end of WWII. BMW must have gotten production going pretty quickly.

We got almost 4 inches of rain in the last couple of days, a ton or two of leaves came down with it and I hear the rake calling my name. 20 degrees colder today. Anyone wants to stop by and rake leaves, I will provide hot chocolate/beer***, lunch and the rake of your choice. Have a good one. ***While supplies last. Never was much for chocolate beer. No thanks.

Talked to my brother this morning. Yesterday's surgery on his arm went well and was done in an hour instead of the planned three hours. Possibly because it ended up being only on his wrist, not his elbow. An ulnar nerve problem.
After Mr. H and I go for a cold walk, I'll finish cleaning our cabover camper. Bills to pay, monthly taking stock of our finances. Then I have a two hour chorus rehearsal this afternoon. Grocery shopping after that. Such is the exciting life of a retiree.

The Leaves Mustn't Fall The autumn leaves were falling and the snow was soon to come As I was walking down a lonely road I saw a little fellow who was sitting all alone Catching leaves as they began to fall Chorus: The leaves mustn't fall, oh no they mustn't fall I'm tying the leaves so they will stay I've lost my mom and dad, now sister's all I have Don't let the falling leaves take her away My sister's only seven, and she's sure a pretty thing As pretty as a picture on the wall The doctor came this summer and he said that she would die When the autumn leaves had turned and start to fall (Chorus) So won't you help me mister, won't you help me tie the leaves We'll tie them to the branches good and strong And if we tie them tightly we can keep my sister here And show the doctor man that he was wrong (Chorus)

Sounds like that has the making of a beautiful song, Dub. I looked out the kitchen window this morning, and yeah, we were having the winds here, which like a cruel scythe.. was striping the trees of all their wonderful colors.
