Stroke of Genius
He has always been there for me.
At first I thought nothing of it,
As it was expected of him
Then I realized he was my stepping stone,
I never felt safe without him
Things changed
The world I knew changed,
I changed, I grew
Simultaneously, I outgrew the need for him,
Like a caterpillar shedding his cocoon
Then he changed, in a major way.
At first it was traumatic, and I could not look at him the same.
But now the change has been dramatic,
In a good way!
Things will always change, and now I will be ready for them
Now that my dad is my guiding light, when all I can see is darkness.
