Never heard of them before, but we are gonna chow down on Salvadorean papusas this aft -- they sound delicious. Anyone familiar? Thick corn tortillas, stuffed with cheese, pork, beans, etc., then grilled, topped with spicy slaw.

I ate three, absolutely fabulous. The yellow slaw is spicy and quite good. Other sides dishes were frijoles and rice both great, especially the rice which had lots of veggies in it and more like fried rice than Mexican rice. Only thing that could have made it better would be beer, they don't serve it, we had Mexican Coke. Manana is less than five minutes from my place.

I had an ancho rubbed steak, about a half-inch thick and obviously char-grilled at high heat, delicious, plus I had a pork/cheese pupusa. They are wonderful, not messy, but chewy, tasty, like Mexican food only different.
They make their own hot sauce, too, and the thicker of the two was just hot enough and had lots of flavor, about the consistency of steak sauce. The other one was watery and pretty tasteless, but it matters not as the thick one was perfect.
We'll definitely be back, maybe with coffee travel mugs filled with cerveza.
Great to catch up with Terry and Marty.

Admit to da wife yet that you had slaw and beans for lunch? Should be percolating nicely right about bed time.

She and the daughter went shopping and stopped at Chipolte Grill for lunch, she's loaded for bear.

Lots of Salvadorams here. In addition to the pupuserias, there are several mobile sellers. I love em. Some Salvadoran ladies sell box lunches at construction sites. Their non- pupusa food is wonderful too. And cheap
