This is it. I'm up and flipping a coin. Build breakfast here or go down to McKenna's. Wife is still off to Jersey.

The boy, Howdy, was named Doody. Howdy Doody. Funny looking kid with freckles and a head as hard as a log. I remember he fancied himself a cowboy but he was a city kid and no more of a cowboy than that Jack Elliott character. A faux cowboy with a faux life story. Doody never seemed all that much in control to me, either. I always thought there was someone behind the scenes pulling the strings. Good morning to all.

I presume all that punctuation is aimed at Doug. I think I've volunteered for taxi duty today. Shuffling granddaughters here and there all day because Grandma and Mom are going to Great Grandma's. I vaguely remember DaWife mentioning a skating party as my last destination, I ain't hanging around for that nor do I think the girls want me to. But it is very near North Saint Paul and the auction house where they have about 15 guitar going up for auction, I'll check that out. I will also have to pass right by Neumann's Bar and I may have to stop in for a drink.

Morning all. Tired today, because yesterday we went down to the beach house and started cleaning out all the personal stuff, plates, cups, cookware, linens, etc. in prep for the closing on the 15th. The only possible hiccup is we are still waiting for the bank appraisal, but I think that it will go. It's amazing how much crap can fit in a 900 sq foot house. Our garage now looks like we are hoarders, and we did not get all the stuff. We will go back next weekend to finish. I'll breath a sigh of relief when it's sold, no more working on a 50 yr old house that consistently takes a beating from the heavy winter N pacific storms.
Off to Goodwill after breakfast.
Mike

An unexpected rain swept through during the night. Snow on the mountain peaks. Looking forward to waffles and a quiet day at home. Spent all day yesterday running errands, brunching in between, and then attending a local recital where I knew a few of the performers. Piano, violins, and voice. No guitar involved.

Just watched a great finish to Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Check it out cycling fans.
Looks like a beautiful day here.

A lovely day here. The sun is shining, which is hasn't for a week, and I'll be in the yard all day.

Just back from a sweet little driving loop that took me to the site of the new St. Croix bridge, where all the pilings appear to now be in place, then into downtown Stillwater and across the river to Wisconnie, past some farm fields and river bluffs, into North Hudson and Hudson itself. My destination was that exotic-meats place whose sausages, etc., I have posted links to here, and whose tube steak I intend to bring to I-Jam this fall. But the place didn't open until 10 and it was only 9:30, so what's a guy to do? Stop at Dick's Bar, of course, for a bloody Mary, which set me back a whopping $1.75, with beer chaser.
The meat place was interesting as all get out, but I didn't buy anything exotic -- they were out of ostrich, for crying out loud! Just got some aged Wis. cheddar and a very tasty herb/garlic meat marinade. They had kangaroo, yak, wild boar, goat, some bizarre pates and charcuterie. I'll be back after doing some online homework.
It's a beautiful day, and my dandelions are popping into view.

It was rainday but the sun's out now and it's getting almost comfortable out. I weeded the half-keg pots around the pool so now it's up to Mary to plant something in them. I think she's planning some vegetables among the flowers. Not my job so I'll keep quiet about it.
I feel a nap coming on.
Happy Sunday.
