I'z here Public apology to Dennis - I played some of the worst bridge I've ever seen last night. Normal Monday stuff. Walmart trip. BTW Chris is on a walker some of the time rather than the wheelchair. Improvement.

BTW Chris is on a walker some of the time rather than the wheelchair. Improvement. So you got your ass handed to you and Dennis had to go along for the ride. Morning Yes I'm not at Big Island, maybe next weekend. This is probably best because the wind is up and it would not be a good day to be in the water on the north side of Big Island. Bank holiday so DaWife doesn't have to work. She probably wouldn't even get out of her jammies except that I'm going to make her go grocery shopping with me. She hates grocery shopping but I make her go every once in a while so she doesn't get too spoiled. Other than that I have laundry to do, mine, she ain't that spoiled, some shop time and a tax report to write up.

Good morning, someone brought in homemade pumpkin bread to work today -- man, I love this time of year.
FABULOUS weekend with my daughters, their spouses and my granddaughter in town, plus the wonderful wedding, amazing weather and I did OK with the guitar playing, God Be Praised.
But now everyone is back in North Carolina --- except me! SOB!

Hey, I just found out it's Disingenuous People's Day -- why the hell are we celebrating people who are insincere???

It's a beautiful day out, and I haven't stepped outside since 7:00. I'm stuck in the middle of the most boring conference in the world, crammed into a room so tight it's like flying in an airplane.

Now that is funny. And it's not even political.

Finally ran out of pills so I'm back on Scotch taken internally for pain as needed. The pain seems mostly manageable for now. I hope it goes away soon though. Saw this link on FB and it's about Antarctica so I read it. www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/scientists-antarctic-are-drinking-way-too-much-booze Seems there's an alcohol problem down there. Amazing. We had an alcohol problem back in '68 when I was surveying for the dock that ship is tied up to. The ice was too thick and the supply ships couldn't get in so we were down to drinking gin and grape soda. The wooden hut by the ship is Scott's Hut. We weren't allowed to go near it but I did get some pictures of the inside through the windows. Looks like McMurdo has grown some since I was there. Our engineering office would have been over on the left side of the picture but just a Quonset hut at the time. In any case, it beat Vietnam since the seals and gulls weren't carrying guns.
