Obviously you all know whats happening now. Thank you, Marshall for reposting my note here. And I appreciate all the remarks and input here too. The lack of rejection is one thing that I'm most appreciative of, but otherwise, I've pretty much felt like crap ever since and have not regained the strength or level of vitality that I was expecting. I've met other recipients that had their transplants well after mine and they have bounced right back. My heart's efficiency was just too compromised by the leaky valves. Now they will be fixed, and I'll get back with it. Evan.....having my chest cracked open was painless. They put me out. I'm way more bummed about missing another year of everything I've been waiting to get back to, and the friends I've missed than I am about another surgery. And I absolutely HAVE to get back to where I can play. That is the hardest part of all this. No need to pin any threads this time, it will all happen too quickly. We'll all be in touch more regularly here. And all of you that I haven't met yet, who were unsure about getting to I-Jam this year.....missing next year is completely not an option.

We'll miss you again this year, Don. And by that I mean miss you. But it's my assumption that things will be OK. We're all here for you, whether you make a gathering or not.

I'm late to this party, but best of luck to you Don, you sound like you're in a great mood and that's important.

Bummer, Don.
But, as Doug says, when the pain and bother goes away and all is peaceful, you're dead. And that sucks, too.

Been out for a few days and just catching up. Too bad about IJ this year, Don, but next year will be glorious! Looking forward to seeing you then! In the mean time, here's to cute, young nurses and good pain killers!

In the mean time, here's to cute, young nurses and good pain killers! They indeed have those, Jeff!!! Only problem with the pain meds is that after my transplant, I never had to take any. And that's really not a problem. And yes, there are some phabulous nurses. Biggest problem was having to wait until I was home to have a cold beer.

When I had my valve done it seemed like they were taking a blood draw every 15 minutes. And then thing is, after they saw through your chest, you are pretty tired for a few days and want to sleep and not be bothered by blood draws. I swear they got really sneaky and sent the prettiest nurses in for the two am draws. I'd wake up ready to tear someone a new....and there would be then most delightful young lady. They are bastids, I say.
