Morning
89F, 96% humidity with a dewpoint at 67F, gonna be warm and humid. Probably get some fairly heavy rain tonight so I'll prep the shop before I quit work today.
Last day for a while of getting up at 5:30 so DaWife can work a 4 day week.
IJ is coming, are you prepared? I'm not, still got a shit load of work to do before then and the date is coming up quickly.

Another day sitting in bed in a rather basic room (with a/c). I've heard it's hot outside. At least I do have internet, and a few people are stopping by. I brought 6-8 books, tried one and gave up. Wife brought me a custom burger & fries and ate my otherwise bland lunch.
(Uh.., I go to rehab, but I'm not in rehab.)

Looks like we got some rain last night and today may not hit 90. Still Summer though.
Got my partial denture back yesterday and above just fixing the break they put in some supporting wire across the break so I should be able to chew small rocks now.

Legs feeling the burn. I hate moving, especially this time of year. You have to wait until after dark for it to be cool enough to do any work.

We played an outdoor lake party for some nice folks last night and it was as perfect a MN evening as you could have. They had fogged the yard so no bugs. Light breeze, just perfect.
One of the 8-10 really great days we get every year.

Finally had mail delivery yesterday! It was strange/disorienting being without it for a week. Got one bill and 4 checks.
I win!

Got one bill and 4 checks. This is a solid business plan. I need to try harder. I never did get a diagnosis, but most of the numbness in my left hand has subsided and I am once again a "guitarist". Yay!

Good morning, restful sleep for my last night on the road, easily the best hotel of my 13-day trip, and yet it was the cheapest. Moral: Sell your house, move to Davenport, Iowa, and live in the Baymont.
I bought the cheapest and the most expensive gas on the same day. Yesterday morning I filled up in Clarksville, Tenn., for $1.79 a gallon, for 89 octane! Reaching Iowa at the end of the day, I refilled at a station whose sign advertised $2.09 -- that was for 87 octane, of course. I punched the 89 button, started fueling and noticed it was FIFTY CENTS MORE PER GALLON than the 87 octane. Grrrrrrrrr.
Anyhoo, that is no big deal -- the bottom line is that I no doubt spent less on gas than on any other long-haul road trip I've ever made. Nice to be able to free up some cash for fun things, like indulging your kids and granddaughter.
Today! Sun is out! Body is cleansed, back roads perused on Google maps, and I'll be meeting Joy and Dub at a coffee joint in Swisher, IA, home of the famous dusting/sweeping wand, at 1 p.m. We're gonna play a spirited game of Pass The Kennedys. Then I will take Hwy. 63 from Waterloo to Rochester, MN, with a possible stop at Four Daughters Winery en route home, and sleep in my own bed tonight, ahhh.
A great trip, I miss my darlins already, but it's time to go home.

a beautiful day, no fog/marine layer this morning. Driving my mother to Edmunds, WA today to visit with an old friend (last surviving member of her wedding party).
No I'm not ready for IJ,,,lots to do,,,and still think it's further away than it is.

... I never did get a diagnosis, but most of the numbness in my left hand has subsided and I am once again a "guitarist". Yay! You might google "cubital tunnel syndrome" when you get a chance, see if it rings any bells. (Be very aware of how you put/place/rest your elbow on any table, chair arm, maybe how you rest it against the door in your car.)
