Before my stroke 2/14/13. I was talking all the time slowly, fastly, medium, and anything. ----------------------------Now after almost 4 years. I can talk slowly and sometimes medium. I'm probably 80% about talking. Sometimes I can't talk 4 or 5 syllables. Sometimes my pronouns, prepositions and syntax is messed up. Sometime I can't talk. .....I need to have a remote or a clicker. Sometimes I have 10,000 words available. Sometimes it works for about one or two or three hours or more. When the 10,000 is ended. I wish I could show you this clicker (00,000) and they'll 'get it'. I can't talk right now. *The other thing* if one person destroys, ruin emotional my inner peace. My words are gone. This is where when I leave. *I'm not angry, not frustrated* ...I must refresh... possibly a nap, walk, drive my car, practice my piano, play guitar, write text, read an article, watch music on the TV, in the Internet.... refresh!!! Sometimes I say the one word "no" probably because my words are not available.

That's gotta be hard. (Not that I talk a lot anyway. [Unless alcohol is involved - Then I never shut up])
Keep up the good work.

You seem to be able to express yourself just fine, Bob. You're working it. Frustrating, I'm sure, but the attitude seems good.

Bob, you're doing great. I just wish the stroke hadn't confused you and made you a Yankees fan.

I can only imagine how frustrating this all must be. That said (and I hesitate to write this, because I'm not sure how it will come across) you really are doing great. Not to minimize things, but I don't think most people meeting you for the first time today would think of you as "had a stroke guy" unless you told them. In your mind, you know you aren't what you used to be, but to the rest of the world, you come across as a "regular" guy. And the highlight of Idiot Jam for me this year was giving you a ride on the motorcycle back from Garrison to Vinton!

Bob, when you came to Idiotjam I was highly impressed with how you spoke. It's frustrating for you I know, but please also know that we all understand what you are saying.

Well it's been a long time. I plagiarise the song by Bob Dylan. I think ... my avocation is "wordsmith" & a writer. My music is wonderful I had to choose in Sept2016 ... east coast 50 year High School or IdiotJam Vinton. It was simple.... musicians or people that I don't really care about high school... again it was a simple solution. I'll be back.... 2017 IJ
Jeff I loved the hog!

I've been really impressed with your recovery Bob.
When you first started posting again, your writing had a certain pleasing haiku-like quality to it that I found interesting.

Bob, our conversations at Idiot Jam were a highlight of the weekend. You are a wise man and a treasured friend.

Bob was strange before his stroke and he's still strange. But his dog taught Niki about dog doors so I give him a pass.
