Me, too. Got to mention Hitler on page 7 of a thread in a totally irrelevant way. But I got to do it first. That'll float me all day.

Out with the wife for dinner a bit ago. Went to a steak place, not kobe beef, but very similar, and excellent. Dropped about $180 on the meal and drinks, but worth it, since it's our 29th anniversary.
(Also talked with a personnel person earlier today, and got a nice surprise when she previewed my severance payout)

Happy anniversary to the JDD2s.
With luck the sun may reappear today after an extended absence. Sunrise is about now. I have hope.
Wife has a cold. I got up about 4:30 because I could see there were lights on and she was hacking away and sniffling. SHe has now taken some medicine and gone back to bed so I'll be quiet this morning. The parrot doesn't get the quiet thing unfortunately.
Last Wednesday in January so Spring must be getting closer.

The cat got the mouse. She's been hunting that mouse for weeks and last night she had to wake Chris to show her that she got it. Jumped up on the bed to wake her and show her the mouse about 2 am. Good cat, but we didn't need dead mouse in the bed.

Morning
32F/0C Cloudy. We had maybe 1/2" of snow overnight but it is still snowing off and on.
No plans on going anywhere today, dropped off DaWife but I don't have to pick her up. Just shop work, a nap or two and making orange chicken for dinner.
Congrats Jdd

"dropped off DaWife but I don't have to pick her up"
In my dreams I've done that. In reality she keeps coming back.

Did the world shift on its axis or something? No Ken gifs for days now. I'm feeling oddly out of kilter.

It is a lighter shade of gray outside today. Almost looks like daytime. It is trash day and I have wheeled my custom made, designer trash receptacle to the curb and adjusted it to the right angle so that it looks every bit as trendy and cool as it is. It is a SmartTrash receptacle and it automatically wraps the trash so that it looks like presents and periodically sprays just enough air freshener to make you think of spring flowers. It makes the trash so attractive that a person almost hates to see it dumped into the big rumbling truck by the cigarette smoking, Cubs hat wearing, angry looking man in the cab who operates the huge robotic arm that carefully lifts the can, gently taps it against the truck as the trash falls into the back and then flings the trash receptacle 30-40 feet down the block so that it skids on its side across the blacktop, up into my neighbor's flower bed, through that, and comes to rest against the side of his house. Trash day is one of my favorite days. It is not as much fun as getting the mail everyday, but it is a big, solid number 2.

. . . , but we didn't need dead mouse in the bed. They've got pills for that, you know.

Woke to wet ground. Let the dogs out and they immediately went nuclear, had to run out with a flashlight to see a big old coon going over our fence. They were so proud huffing about with their ridges up on their backs. Fortunately for all of us, it was only barking and strutting.
Now I have coffee, and they are snoozing in front of the fire.
Last night was date night. Tuesday cheap movie, and a free burger from Red Robin. Hidden Figures was the movie. My God what a story. If you haven't seen it, do go.

after forgetting her reservation at home mom got checked in and wheeled to the boarding gate, between checkin and the gate she lost her phone. I managed to get the phone suspended at 10:30 last night, and she's probably much happier without the phone, but damn, what a hassle (still have to talk to the service provider tomorrow).
other than that, saw my first robin this morning, guess spring is around the corner. There's hope...
have a good one y'all.

Good afternoon... chemo (just on oral meds this round) is making me sleep longer, I miss the days when I could do 5 hours and feel great.
We got snow...
I get the new cabinet for my vintage Vibrolux tomorrow... and, despite feeling permanently exhausted and mildly nauseous (from both the chemo and the self-serving moron in the White House), I am happy to still be here.
