On my way to work today, it occurred to me that it might be fun to see how much time us 'Holers spend getting ready for, and to, our workplaces. So I envisioned a thread called "Alarm to Desk," and we would compare times.
Then it occurred to me that just about everyone on this forum has a loosie-goosie job, or no job, or a travel-oriented job.
So, I guess it's maybe Wren and me who are expected at a certain time at our desks each day, huh....
Anyhoo, my alarm goes off at 6 and I am at my desk by 7.
FASCINATING, HUH?!?!?!

Alarm (no need for one) to desk about 10 minutes or less. Home office perk.

Oh boy. I get woken up at 7 a.m. by the kids. I leave the house at about 7:45. Now, if everything is good, I'm at the desk between 8:15 and 8:30. However, most days it takes a full hour to get to the office. And it's getting worse, not better.

Alarm at 6:10, wake the boys up at 6:30, get the boys ready until 7:00, coffee at Casey's at 7:07 and at work by 7:20. Considering the three years I commuted for an hour and 20 minutes, I LOVE my schedule! 'Course, that commute is no different than if Marshall missed the train!

I'm generally up at Stupid O'Clock in the morning because of an on-going years-long bout of insomnia. I have to be at work by 8:30 am, but usually get here between 8:00 and 8:15.
The best part is I drive through some of the prettiest countryside on the way to work. Depending on traffic, I can drive past Salisbury Cathedral, Sting's Lake House, Stonehenge, or through the Durrington Walls. I have to be one of the luckiest Yanks in the UK.

When I worked day shift, alarm went off at 5:20 and I was at the office by 6:30. Now, I wake up when I'm ready. Have to be at the office by 2:30PM and leave at 11PM.
Better than when I was in DC. Then the alarm went off at 3:30AM and was at the office before 5:15AM. Don't miss those days at all

I don't have an alarm but I generally get up when I want too. I also come back to my desk about when I want to and check in here to see what y'all are up to. Then I may or may not do a little office work, pay bills and etc. Then it's the guitar or the mandolin.

Paul And Paul sings:Salisbury Cathedral You're bringin' me down You stood there and watched as My baby left town You could've done something But you didn't try You didn't do nothing You let her walk by Now everyone knows just how much I need her, that girl (are you that girl) She wouldn't have gone far away if only you'd started ringing your bell Salisbury Cathedral You're bringin' me down You stood there and watched as My baby left town

5:30, feed cats and dog, shower shave etc, coffee and news check. I unfortunately live a quarter mile from work so I go the long way for my car's health, and get to the hell hole at 6:45!

Hour and a half sometimes two... sometimes maybe an hour. Depends on what I decide for breakfast.
Being old, slow, and cranky is not what I had expected.
