Good morning. I hope Lonnie can get home and comfortable today. Hospitals are good but they're not home.
Still cool here this week, 60s at best but the warmer stuff is supposed to return next week so I'm trying to get some work done while it's cool. Got the gutters cleaned out yesterday. Haven't decided which chore to do today yet but it's probably either pressure washing the shady side of the house or trimming the branches that are sort of blocking the driveway, which requires a pole saw and I have one of those. The idea is to get some exercise especially for my left arm so maybe someday I can play guitar or golf again. I didn't want anyone thinking I had actual ambition.

Good morning. My 10-year-old overheard my wife and me talking about Lonnie, and she asked about him. So, I told her what I know, and we talked about life, disease, death and loss, and she seems to accept that the time comes in everyone's life in which they lose loved ones. She said the sad part is when it happens too soon. I'll drink to that.
Off to mow my face, clean up, and dress in something a little sharper than jeans and shirttails—the MIL is turning 90 this week and the kids are throwing her a big luncheon party in MY favorite part of the world—Lawn Guyland. Oh, yeah. The biggest developed and inhabited sandbar in New York. Spent all day yesterday in the ancestral home and am feeling somewhat cranky about not being able to play guitar yet this weekend, or most of the past week, mostly due to fulfilling responsibilities and being exhausted at the end of the day.
I know we're all thinking about Lonnie today, but I'm going to try and celebrate life somehow, even in a small way, in his honor.

driving ms. jackie (mom) to the Seattle Symphony today. Have no clue what the weather will be like, but it's semi-sunny right now.

Good Morning Good People
A beautiful Sunday morning in May. Dawn and Lola are off to Chicago on Amtrak with Aunt Dar and cousin Ella to see a stage version of Mary Poppins. This will include a trip backstage -- a nephew's friend is playing the part of Bert.
Spending time at the office. Work has been shitty lately. I will elaborate some other time.
Will come home and play a tune on the back porch for Lonnie. I can sort of fingerpick the melody for an old shape-note hymn.

I am sure Lonnie will appreciate all these dear thoughts and gestures -- I will make sure he hears of them.
I am hoping he had as restful a night as is possible in a hospital -- as xyrn noted, the 8th-floor staff is outstanding.
I had a horrid sleep night, alas -- was jolted out of bed several times with leg cramps, some in my calves, some in my shins, of all places. What on earth??
Maybe it's a reaction to the strong antibiotic I've been taking since Friday for a nose infection.
I'll be heading down to Lonnie's place in an hour or so -- Glenn should be there already, finishing up some carpentry work he was doing for them. So we will both be on hand when the patient transfer occurs.

Morning
Sad day
Lost a lot of weight, constant headache. But the nurses had me up and walking around without being totally out of breath.

A patient was running down the hall chased by a nurse with a bowl of steaming water. A doctor yelled "No, nurse! I told you to prick his boil!"

Terry, when I had my heart valve replaced, they were sending in nurses it seemed like every hour to stick me and draw blood. Which was annoying to say the east. The worst was when they would wake me at two or three in the morning, and I would open my eyes to tell them exactly what I thought and before I could tear their head off, I'd invariably see the most beautiful, smilling young nurse, apologizing for waking me, and what could I do? I'm sure the bastids did that on purpose. It worked. Mike

The head nurse told a student to go in an elderly mans room and put him on the bedpan.
She heard a bloodcurdling scream come out of the room and the nurse came running out shaken.
"What did you do? Yelled the instructor."
"All I did was pick him up by his handle" was the reply.

Just give Lonnie our love and let him know how dear he is to all of us.

Well this is another thread.
It seems everybody here has medical problems.
I know that I had a stroke. One tiny one. And yes I had six surgeries and two staph infections.
Yes I'm incredibly tired all the time! I guess I'm still recovering
But now I don't have any medical problems. Well yes my taste is almost gone. Sometimes I get a little grumpy because I love cooking.
And another huge hug, prayer, and played "steal away" for Lonnie
This is Sunday it's for my sanctuary l

Precious Lord, take his hand.
Don't really feel like it, but Andy Cohen and Bill Ellis will be showing up for the house concert soon, and then the audience around 4PM. It will be a good show and good friends will be the majority of the small audience. Once the music starts, I'll be into it.
