My grand niece has been taking fiddle lessons from a good friend of ours and their year end recital is today. We've been asked to provide some musical backing for the event so we'll be off soon to do that. It's going to be hard concentrate since all we're really thinking about is Lonnie and Patti, rejoicing in their lives and love while despairing of Lonnie's eminent journey. It makes me think of Terry Smith's wonderful song, "Far Side Banks of Jordan."

You'll be celebrating your grand niece and Lonnie at the same time. It will be wonderful.

Well, I got the east corner of the house washed down and that's where the pool filter is so as long as I had the hose over there I figured I'd fill the pump and make sure it's gonna start. Nope it's not gonna start. It's just gonna hum so I guess it's jammed up internally. Yeah, Amazon One-Click. It's only money. The darned thing worked last fall. It was drained and kept inside for the winter but something must have rusted or something. So far, they last about 5 years. This being our 11th year here, this will be our 3rd pump.. This might be why there are a couple of old ones in pieces out in the barn that were here when we bought the place. I'll have to swim more this summer.

Back from the open house celebrating my friend's recent wedding and new home. Such a nice afternoon. My friend, a member of my chorus quartet, is 78. Her new hubby is 81. Both are widowed, she for about 6 years and he for 2. What a wonderful thing to find love again at that stage in life. Some people from our chorus were there and quite a few from her church and church choir. There was a blessing of the house, which I'd never participated in before. Going from room to room with scripture readings and prayers appropriate to the use of the room. All joined in a song. Sounded pretty darn good with all of those chorus and choir people there, although some of us were sight reading. My hubby hit it off with hers. Both are retired engineers. Neither one of them can sing.
