This day 13 years ago, we lost Specialist Isela Rubalcava to mortar fire in Mosul. This is one of those days.

Big yard and garden day yesterday. Last night some f##!$ gnome snuck into the bedroom, stuck a funnel in my head and filled me full of concrete.

This day 13 years ago, we lost Specialist Isela Rubalcava to mortar fire in Mosul. This is one of those days. Geez, Paul. That so sucks. It gives me such a heavy heart. To sacrifice young people for Bechtel just ain't right. Lonnie is more immediate, but that is life and death as determined by mother nature her ownself. This is death by old folk's greed, and young folks sense of duty. When will we ever learn?

After yesterday's exertions most of my body refuses to move today. Had a lousy night's sleep and that was before I learned of Lonnie's passing. I think I'll mostly take today off and besides it's cold outside.
I will keep my appointment with Glenfarclas at 4pm in Lonnie's honor.

The plumber arrives shortly to install new PEX, toilet, on demand water heater, fixtures, bathroom sink, outdoor faucets, and a water filtration system. We will be gone the rest of the week.
See you in a few T-Bob.

As if the news around here weren't enough, I just learned that a longtime patient of mine killed himself yesterday. He was 27.
I don't drink. But if I did, I would today.

I need to get painting outside but it's too darn cold. When's spring? Fortunately, the little woman (heck she's only 4'11" although she claims a full five feet) has provided me with a long list of things to do. Talking to you guys on the computer is not one of them. Not even close. But I needed a sandwich and a cup of tea.

The sad thing about those little girls is that if they swing, you're going down.

Tough stuff. On top of all this with Lonnie, that's a large load. In spite of the heaviness in my heart, still made a run to Dodge City to the Hearing Aid office, grocery store, and farm store for a new two-wheeled wheelbarrow. I'll put it to work tomorrow. I'm off today.
