The other day I did a Facebook post about my condition and that I'm not taking any appointments for a while. I will be doing Saturday as long as it doesn't overtax me so today is the trial. Link to your Facebook page?
Thanks!

Did a really busy farmer's market today on the state house lawn, (actually on the road next to it). Very busy with folks walking the length of the block. Almost every body who walked by dropped a dollar bill in the basket. Lots of dollar bills. One, count'em, just one $5 bill. Seems like the market has trained their clientele that the musicians get a tip. Folks only stopped long enough to hear one song. 100% acoustic on a noisy street with refrigerator trucks.

Do you have to pay them for space there Doc? A guy here is courting musicians to play at his farmer's market but wants $20 to rent the spot and play for tips and "exposure".

Nope. $40 and lots of singles in the tip basket. They provided the sun shade and a wicker tip basket. And 3 loaves of non gluten banana bread.

That just seems silly to me. When I think of a farmer's market, I think of one of those old Roman Forums; I think of one as a gathering place for society. Vendors might rent stalls, but to make it go an atmosphere should be created. Davenport, Iowa, has a wonderful farmer's market. Musicians are everywhere, set up with no amplification so people have to come around to here them. And they do. A great addition that accomplishes nothing more than bring more people to the market. A guy who wants to rent space for something like that isn't seeing the forest for the trees.
