Thank you gentlemen - i'm a little nervous and anxiety.
There's a place in Fairfax that has a senior apartment. But my waiting list is 77 for a 1BR AND my other waiting list is 31 for a studio. It's going to take at least three months or possibly a year
Mike, my son told me I can't live because it's too tiny.
Doug, yes.... a VW van would be wonderful. I could be a gypsy!
Unfortunately my money is incredibly tight. but a VW is at least $10,000
Adios
Edit. I have to move in two weeks. 7/31. I don't have any money. I'll get my first gig in about $40 soon. This is why I'm a little anxious and anxiety too. And I have to figure out storage also.

That doesn't sound too good, right there.
Hope something comes up, and fast!

Holy smokes, Bob. I hope everything works out for you. I should be a gypsy and I need a caravan. I found a 1981 VW Westfalia in Craigslist - $12,000 obo

So many people have the idea that camping in a camper of some sort will be a cheap way to live.
It's not.
People on Airstream Addicts (a Facebook page) buy a old 1970s airstream for cheap, (5k) and think they will go off into the sunset only to find out the 40-50 yr old camper needs new axles, brakes, wheels, tires, frame repair, plumbing, heater, ac, windows, seams sealed, floor replaced, ....the list is virtually endless. It can be done, if you have the resources, but if not...
Bob, I don't know what you are going to do. Your best bet at this point may be county or city services, or maybe local churches or something like that.

Locally here most every community has a "Senior Center." I'd expect California would be no different. There should be a Case Manager there that can help guide you through the myriad of Federal and local programs that are available. Don't try to do that yourself. There are gatekeepers, and arcane rules at every turn in the road. A good Case Manager can get you through the maze. And the Case Managers are free; usually supported by a charitable organization like Catholic Charities.
Best to you, man.

I looked through the online resources. The local agencies that cover Bob's needs don't have any openings. Everything has a waiting list.
I think Bob needs something more personal like a church or synagogue. Someone who can help find a room not connected with an agency.

Yes, that would help for sure.
But he needs an advocate in the system, if he doesn't already have one. That doesn't change his immediate need, because even with an advocate, the wheels of government bureaucracy turn slowly.

Google: California Department of Aging. There's an 800 number. Call that. They will tell you which agency provides senior services for your zip code. Contact that agency. They will assign a Case Manager to help navigate the system.
I would expect that Bob is on medicare and medicaid. He is also eligible for food stamps.
Then there's always church and faith based organizations. Presbyterian churches are pretty good with this. Call almost any one of them. They'll take the call and direct you to someone that can help. Other denominations are similar, I'd expect. Many faith groups have funds to help set up temporary housing and such until the wheels of government assistance can be gotten into motion.

Bob, Darie says it's ok for you to stay in our guest room for a few weeks until you get the place in Marin. Hot and dusty, you get free room. We will try to set you up with piano gigs at the old folks homes here.

Matt and Darie. Y'all my guardian. I'll talk to you Friday or Saturday. It's interesting that I was a guardian for people in the rehabilitions & hospitals.
Thank you friends ❤️
