Howdy. Back after a few days in Nagoya, a city that is actually pretty nice (contrary to its reputation & my preconception). Went to meet a friend that I'd worked with way back in in about '84 (we've kept in touch), and another mutual acquaintance. Good times.

Good morning, Monday though it is.
Wow, we may not exceed the 80s today. I'll probably need my Winter coat. Still humid out and sticky but livable for coffee on the back porch. I must lead an interesting life. Yesterday while I was piling sticks at the tree line for easier pickup next time I hook up the cart those 2 fawns that were resting in the front lawn a couple of days ago came to watch. They stayed 20 feet away but just stood and watched. This morning while I was skimming the pool the Studio Rabbit, so named because it seems to live underneath Mary's quilt studio, came over to the pool fence sat and watched me like a "What's you up to?" kid until I was done then went about munching the weeds at the fence line. They never offer to help. Anyway, happy Monday if you can do that.

Up and awake. The air was actually pleasant this morning walking into work from the parking lot. We are not supposed to crack 90 today, which is a rarity this time of year.

No Tour stage to watch live this morning. Mild withdrawal. Guess I had better address domestic infrastructure issues.

Cleaning out drainage ditches this morning. Dentist this afternoon. Don't know what's in store the rest of the week, as we're trying to make some appointments. Sun is mostly out and we need to do yard work if it dries out enough.

My lily took first place at the fair, but I got beat out by a damn dahlia for Grand Champion. Next year. Charlene cleaned house, everything she entered took first in class and she had two Grand Champions, a quilt (fierce competition) and a knit sweater. Five firsts and two Grands.
I came out of the 4H animal exhibits convinced rabbits will be the protein source of the future. Some of those rabbits weighed thirty pounds. There is some new variety (new to me, anyway) that makes a 15 lb. French lop-ear look like a hamster. Dang, were they big. If this keeps up, soon we will be riding them.
