Good morning. Happy Birthday, Chris.
Looks like the sun is gonna come up today for a change. The golf course is so wet they cancelled tomorrow's Labor Day tournament already. I wasn't planning to play but it seems like the course has been flooded most of the year. Keeping an eye on Hurricane Irma but it's too early to tell where it's going. It's a Cat 3 now and might head this way in a week or so. Worst case it heads into the Gulf of Mexico and hit's Harvey's target again. For me, I suppose, worst case is it comes here. We'll see.

Good Morning Good People
Uncertain weather. Rain overnight, slightly overcast right now.
Off to church, thence household chores and hanging out with friends at their house in the country later on. Got the Toyota ready for the trip to IdiotJam. Now when I drive north to the office it pulls west toward Iowa.

87F/31.5C Sunny and warm.
Doing finish work so in the shop off and on today. I'll drop DaWife off at her Mom's for the afternoon, and sample whatever baked goodies Mom has made up, then off to find a new ring lamp for my bench light and a few odds n ends for my Iowa trip.
6 Days to IJ.

Up and awake, such as it is. We are going out to lunch as a family to celebrate Kathy and my 25th anniversary. Hard to believe she hasn't chucked me to the curb yet.

So, Erin is a relative of yours? Looks like an amazing restaurant. She's my great-niece, My brother's 2nd daughter's daughter. One of the pictures has Deanna, my niece, in it. She runs the wine shop in the basement. Deanna, who we called Dee Dee, and her husband had a restaurant in Freedom for quite awhile called the Hilltop, because it was on the top of the hill in Freedom. Back in '96 Mary and I were visiting friends in Maine and took a drive and found the Hilltop. Went in for lunch and I asked our waitress if Dee Dee was around, but she said "Who?", so I said Deanna and she said "Oh, she's my mother but she's out sick today". Our waitress was Erin. We did stop in to see Dee Dee for a few minutes just to say Hi but that's the last time I saw any of them. We're very proud of Erin though. |
