Good morning. Your Yankees are down 2-0, Bob.
It's not raining but everything's still wet around here so I don't think mowing or painting are getting done today. I may have to watch the Pats game since it's supposed to be on TV this afternoon.
Happy Sunday. Wish we had sun.

Huge storms yesterday and last night. I started to build an ark and then realized I did not know what a cubit was. Must be some exotic wood, huh? Does it grow around here? Anyway, we seem to still be here and, while it looks pretty waterlogged out there, it is dry in here and that is what counts. I hate storms. I really, really, really hate storms. Stay above water, if you can.

Recovering from 2 3+ hour gigs yesterday, but I must say, beside being loooonnnggggg, they were lotsa fun. First one we had to bring sound, second was a stone fired pizza picnic in a rich neighborhood with a sound man. Fun times. The second gig though, sat on a lumpy stool. When I stood my right leg was dead asleep and we were on a bouncy stage. Came very close to going down. Recovered my balance before I went down, but boy was it close.
My new Harbinger system is great, but it is not quite as powerful as I thought. My fix has been to plant a 15" powered speaker on the ground in front of us on the opposite side from the tower. Man, does that work great. Excellent sound at the barn 40 yards away and up a hill, and excellent side to side coverage. It would be better if I didn't need the big guy out front, but for nursing homes and such, the tower alone does great. I feel like ti've got it covered. Any one want some powered 10" JBL Eons?

Good Morning Good People
Rainy and quite windy. Off to church, thence working on the house. The floor refinishing project is about to start before the basement remodel is 100% complete (partial bathroom remodel came in the middle). Lots of prep work, mostly moving heavy furniture, before we pay someone to sand and finish the 1920s-vintage hardwood floors. I think this is the second time in 90 years that the first floor has been refinished (we tore up carpet and refinished in the early 90s)
I have stumbled through a slow fingerpicked arrangement of Star of the County Down, now it has become an earworm.
Have a fine Sunday one and all.

Rain system has moved through, freeing many, many leaves from their branches, the sun is out, I have a big-ass Dunkin cold-brew and am heating up leftover omelet and hash browns from the breffkust I treated myself to yesterday.
Exciting plans for the day -- housecleaning, NFL, cooking. Life on the edge.

Up and awake. I'm waiting for the grass to dry so I can get out and cut it. Later this afternoon, I'll practice on my guitar. Already fixed two garden gates this morning, and cleared my lawn care stuff out of the basement that, "is blocking the entrance to (Kathy's) shop, so can't you put it somewhere else?" Goodbye, clean garage.

Goodbye, clean garage. Time to build a shed. Exactly, Marty. I've wanted one for years. In my dreams, the shed would have two sides. One side would be unfinished, and would be for the lawn stuff. The other side would be about 15' x 10' feet of finished space. In there would be a small fridge, a window that looks out over the pond down slope from us, enough power to run the amps and pedals, and all secured by a Trilogy DL4100 Digital Lock w/ Privacy and Lockout Features.

Patsy show in Little Falls MN Friday night. Nice venue, Great River Arts. www.facebook.com/GreatRiverArts56345/videos/1544209345644089/Wine bar gig with our jazzy group last night. Good evening although there was a cold rain all night and the crowd petered out around 9:30. Looking forward to Wednesday. I am taking the new archtop to David Roos to put on the market.

Got the day all planned. Coffee, rec center, coffee, open Mic at Stone City, football. I wish my days could be that clear cut. Having a little family turmoil, trying to distance myself a bit today—creating a buffer zone to keep my BP normal. When I retire, I am still going to find something to get me out of the house every day. When you live with two Aquarian women, there is no peace... Did some laundry, mowed my face, put a saddle in the H&D OM that I had replaced with a newer one (but the older one brings out better tone and intonation), chatted with an old upstate friend; thinking about making myself some lunch. The hardest thing we're going to have to do later today will be attending a memorial service for the younger sister of one of my daughter's classmates. The little girl was six years old, had a terminal form of cancer, and died last Monday. It's heartbreaking; the idea of a child dying before she has had a chance to live her life is too much today. Or any day. We have been asked not to wear black, but the bright colors that the little girl loved, in celebration of her life. I am curious to see how hip, young New Yorkers will show up to a formal event like this, NOT dressed in black. Nevertheless, it's another tragedy that we must face—the loss of the child, not the sartorial color business. I barely know the parents, but feel as though a show of support from as many of we parents as possible will hopefully buoy them up.

Wow, Howard, my daughter was 6 when she died of brain cancer, and at her memorial service, held at a beautiful lakeside pavilion on a beautiful day, everyone wore bright colors and we did an amazing balloon release.

Bill—yes, I remember when we talked about it, a long time ago. I don't think they are going to do a balloon release, though. There will be a reception at the church after the service, and I am told the parents would like to keep it as upbeat as possible.

I got lots of guitar time in yesterday, more than since Ijam total. For some reason I'm really in the mood to be playing these days. And Starry Night is in G!
