I awoke thinking about impermanence and love, and my thoughts wandered back to this Shakespeare sonnet, #60. 'Nuff said...
Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore, So do our minutes hasten to their end; Each changing place with that which goes before, In sequent toil all forwards do contend. Nativity, once in the main of light, Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crown’d, Crooked eclipses ’gainst his glory fight, And Time that gave doth now his gift confound. Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth And delves the parallels in beauty’s brow, Feeds on the rarities of nature’s truth, And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow: And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand, Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand. —William Shakespeare

Good morning. We're back to average weather, highs in the mid-60s. I can work with that.
Happy Wednesday.

It was our 30th anniversary yesterday. I just thought we’d make it all the way through before announcing it.

Today is off to a slow, and painful start. For whatever reason, can't put much weight on my right foot. Took some Tylenol, easing up some now.
Supposedly hitting 79º, I will harvest the tomatoes and Jalapenos. Hard freeze due tomorrow night.....down to 22º. Glad I already have a stash of firewood in the garage. Just may have to enjoy the first fire in the fireplace of the season whilst I watch some football.

Even though I'm retired, it feels like hump day. Got stitches out yesterday. Still have to be careful for a few days. Having company this afternoon, so Mr. H did the vacuuming and I did minimal cleanup. Our visitor should be here be the time I get home from the dentist. We'll do an early dinner out and he'll drive back to Phoenix tonight. Maybe I will grab a few minutes to play guitar. The U-bass got a little attention yesterday. My other instruments are jealous.
Tomorrow we're in Tucson, where we both see the ophthalmologist. Annual visit for me. Mr. H managed to squeeze in an appointment for a refraction. With his wet AMD, his vision changes a lot, so once a year isn't enough.
Still hitting the mid-80s here. Very pleasant.

I can't help it. I grew up surrounded by concentration camp survivors. It ingrained in me a certain slant... LJ, this is the best I can do right now. They do hit some hot ones, though.
