Good morning.
Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Microsoft? Their creators version (Microsoft is God), was force feeding me installation packages for android games so I could be used as a distribution site although I have turned off, supposedly, all that Delivery Optimization stuff. Since the background downloading was tying up all my bandwidth it has taken me 2 hours to figure out what it was doing and kill it. Then I tried deleting the packages from my disk but although I have admin privileges, I was denied access until I changed the ownership of the folders they created. I want them to get the F off my PC. The funny thing is that all this started when they loaded an update to their anti-virus "Defender" software, which is apparently more like a virus than anything I've seen since I left my security job 12 years ago.
Happy Superbowl Sunday.

IT SNOWED! I thought somebody said that was not going to happen any more and that spring was just around the corner. Maybe I heard it wrong. Lift with the knees, not the back.

Off to walk in the woods and the snow with the dog and the wife. We will later use gift cards to eat dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. Dar turns over another of life's pages tomorrow.

Good Morning Good People
Snowy, about 5" overnight. Time for some serious snowblowing, followed by office work. Putting up some hand-crafted bulletin board strips and displaying some old photos on my heretofore barren office wall.
I may have told this story before -- I have been slow to decorate my office since we moved in in June 2016 (too much other stuff to do, at work and at home). We are in an old factory building with open floor joists overhead. The company owner (another old geologist) gave me grief for my barren walls, so I brought in my old road bike (1981 Trek) and hung it from the joists for decoration. It has been quite a conversation piece. It's older than many/most of my coworkers.
I understand there is an event today where husky young men fight over a ball shaped like a lemon. We will be hosting a fellowship group and then I pick up Mizz Lola from her father's house and tuck her into bed whilst her Mom works.
Have a serene Sunday one and all.

Howdy, it's super-cold (6 below 0) for Super Sunday, hope all the game-goers get inside OK. There is security to go through, which has to happen outside, so they are begging ticketholders to get there early so there is not a last-minute jam, but you know about human nature. The other big challenge is getting everyone onto trains in a hurry after the game. The entire light-rail system has been kidnapped for the stadium users only today -- the regular citizenry will have to get by with buses instead (but free!). They can get 600 people on each train and they plan to have them lined up so that when one departs a new one arrives. Also, a fair number of fans will be walking via skyway to parking garages or hotels, so not all 75,000 will need train transit, but it still should be verrry interestink.

Morning
5F/-15C Sunny, windy, wind chill down to -27F/-33C.
I don't care what anybody says I'm warming up my truck before heading out to breakfast with Bill, Barb, David and Melva. We are meeting at Holman's Table to watch planes land bringing people to the Super Bowl. Later some house work and shop time. I'll find a couple of movies to watch in my little office while the girls watch the Super Bowl.
Austin 75F. Phoenix 81F. Key West 79F.

Good morning. We have a guest that has mentioned the Puppy Bowl, so we'll be at least checking in on that one for the first time. My money is on the cute ones.

I understand there is an event today where husky young men fight over a ball shaped like a lemon. As I recall, Andy Griffith described it as, “Some kindly of a contest where they try to see which bunchfull of them men can carry that punkin from one end of that cow pasture to t’other without either gettin’ knocked down or steppin’ in somethin’.”

Sunny here in southern AZ, but not as warm as Phoenix. Low was 39F. Probably will see 70 for the high. No excuse to not prune more trees today, except that I'm old and my shoulders are stiff. Also gotta take Mr. H to the pharmacy to pick up his Rx eye drops. Since his eye injection on Wednesday, his vision is taking longer than usual to return to "normal."

Good morning. It's about 50, headed for 80. I'll go to church in a while. Diane and I will later go to the temporary public library to replenish the book supply. (The permanent library is shut for a year due to water damage.) This evening I'll make enchiladas. One of my retirement ambitions was to perfect my approach to enchiladas. I'm getting close. Have an enjoyable day.

Morning all. I had to go to the store this am for coffee and groceries. But now that coffee is made, the day is looking better. Forcast high for The Coachella valley is 84-86. For those who are enjoying shoveling snow, and below zero weather, you have my sympathies.
Breakfast of Johnsonville maple sausages, scrambled eggs, and toast coming up. Chicken tacos for dinner. Bike ride and Super Bowl in between.
