Back from brunch with Da Boyz and Da Galz, which was great fun and everyone loved their food, plus lotsa fun and interesting conversation. Outside, dozens of expensive bizjets were parked haphazardly, but there was not much landing activity. (I see that now things have picked up considerably.)
It's cold (1 above) and there is a brisk wind, but it's a brilliantly sunny/blue-sky day and the fresh snow is blindingly white, so I would expect some good scenery shots during the Super Bowl telecast. My south-facing picture window in the living room is providing some wonderful passive-solar heat.

Had a blast in the studio last night. We have seven songs in the works now. Did a few overdubs and put down two of the country classics attempts at George Jones style hits, that we wrote back in the early 90's. Cubase is an amazing tool in the right hands. As long as you don't make the same mistakes in the same place, almost everything is fixable when you have an engineer who knows what he's doing. Some of the songs may turn out to be jig saw puzzles but, when done right, no one can really tell.

Good afternoon!
Finally home from church and brief board meeting. Miss the heck outta playing Sundays. After so many years and have it stop so abruptly, and recouping even slower than anticipated. But it IS coming, and have no doubts I'll get back to it before too much longer.
Two racks of spareribs slow cooking for game time. Our CNA works this afternoon, so she's bringing more food and her family. The more, the merrier. Today, Carrie made the Velveeta/Rotel dip AND her first "SOLO" batch of guacamole. It looks wonderful.
Skipping lunch to leave room for later. I shall climb back into my sling and stabilizer and nap the afternoon away.

Happy Sunday to all from snowy blowy temps getting lowy Wisconsin!!
Kind of a chill day. Did a bit of cyber browsing this morning trying to finish up the last of the selections for the new place. Drywall goes up this week and I had to get some things that require electrical attention so they can finish the wiring.
Shrimp is thawing to take as our foodie for the gathering at the alter of Super Bowl later. Actually would rather just stay home in front of a fire and a movie. Oh well! I am sure it will be fun once we get there. đ

Three feet of snow since yesterday. Not so cold, not so hot. Dug out a path for the Morgan just now. It's pretty in a I've seen seventy winters like this.
Apparently the Budweiser commercial will be the hit of the day. It's pretty good.
Thinking of you Evan and Christine.

"Dug out a path for the Morgan just now." Snow is nature's way of ensuring that Canadians get exercise.

Yes Flake. I am exercised enough just now. Since I shoveled last time we have had another 6 inches of snow. I will pass. Lars has a blower. He can do it.

It's just the way it is for four months of the year. But the wind is fresh and the summer is warm and the water is clean and the people are nice.
Nobody shoots anybody else around here. Everyone has decent housing. Medicare is free. There are no slum areas in Owen Sound.
The cliffs and forests are beautiful. There are public wilderness parks all around and lots of places to camp and canoe and showshoe and hike.
The public education system is top-notch.
You can eat the fish from the bay and drink the water.
For those who fall through the cracks there are social services to care for them. If you get really sick and can't work there is a generous income program for you.
Our government isn't full of liars and charlatans (maybe a few) and we are not at war with anyone.
The area where we live is a protected UN Biosphere.
So I don't mind the snow.

Living in Nirvana has its price. I think it's wonderful that you don't mind paying that price, Katherine. Good on you.
I need your mind frame right now, as I do love living where I am when the weather is warm.

I do not envy you and Lars. I really don't. Well I sure envy them. For all the reasons Katherine mentioned; but also because they are two amazing, beautiful, talented, productive people. When I grow up, I want to be like them.

With all that, of course. But the snow?

Yup. And I happen to know a couple who are every bit as wonderful as Kate and Lars who live in a place where it gets cold but doesn't get the snow they do. This couple doesn't happen to live by a giant body of water that brings in that lake effect snow.
I can't imagine the snow. I can live without the snow.
I can see Kris, however, loving it. If you have a little energetic boy, snow can be a wonderful thing.
