Winter hanging on here -- cold NW wind, highs in the 20s today, lots of snow on the ground, more on the way Sunday, like half a foot, sigh.

Wet outside, but Rod Hill says the rain is done for today, and it’s supposed to get to 67 this afternoon. Might be able to mow this afternoon before tomorrow’s big storm blows in.
Friday lunch with the old farts and that’s all she wrote.

Good morning.
Tried to get the Subaru in for its inspection but it's first come first serve now and there were 5 cars ahead of me. The guy said to come back after lunch and bring the old Gibson so he can take a look at it. So, that's the plan.
Got the oil change and complimentary car wash yesterday. Oil change took about half an hour but then had to wait another hour and a half for the car wash. Nothing happens fast around here.
Happy Friday.

Good morning. It'll be about 65-90F here. My to-do list is filled with mundane tasks. Enjoy your day.

Another cold morning. It did not snow here but that is the only weather positive I can mention. Carry on.

Mornin' all.....
40º currently and will decline as the day goes by. Overnight low of 16º. Glad I got my spraying done yesterday while it was 75º, the systemic herbicide I used had plenty of time to work its magic. So now tonight we're due for 2-3" of snow. The potentially bad thing is the 16º. The wheat here may have been slowed down by the dry conditions, which would be a good thing. But normally by now, the wheat has reached the "joint" stage. No, not the smoking variety. This means that what will become the heads of grain, which is obviously quite immature, is now above ground and unprotected from the freeze. Any wheat that is farther along than the late planted stuff will likely be toast. Not the source of toasted wheat underpinnings. Just the source of lower bank balances. Not so bad for me, as I only have 30 acres out.
So I will stay in today, likely build a fire later. Which means lotsa hours of guitar. Joshua was coming this weekend again to practice, but may stay home with the snow forecast.

Your intrepid reporter in the field reporting from the first robotics regional in La Crosse. To quote bill Murray "This winter is cold and grey and will last you the rest of your life".
The team is staying in the top ten out of 60 so far, so at least I got that going for me.

I do have a fine dining appetite and the duck ragu sounds wonderful, but I'm just a poor clock repairman with a pizza budget.
