It reached the low 50s yesterday. There were people in my neighborhood walking around in shorts and T-shirts, I'm not kidding.

The matinee for the school went well yesterday. Tonight is opening night for "The Music Man". (tickets are $7 at the door, if you give some advance notice, I can get a buck knocked off).

Making mugs today. I don't do it often but I made the Lansing Potter's Guild an offer -- a mug for a testimonial of my workshop. Now I've got a table full of mugs.
I pulled it old right from the kiln. So hot I could barely hold it But it told a tale of ancient places it had been.
Of 16th century years, of tavern beers Held in rounded shapes, peasants draped in capes Landscapes of Renaissance paintings.
Glazed like later years rolled ‘round and Albany brown Dug straight from the ground the sound Of barges down the Erie Canal
Low bridge! Everybody down!
This mug, brand new But with a soul so old It couldn’t have come from my hand. Maybe it came from my dreams.

Up early to follow Mr. H when he takes in the pickup for A/C repair. Then home for a while before going to a funeral. He showed up for a chorus rehearsal in February feeling like he had the flu. Three days later he was dead from heart problems that he didn't know he had. The guy was 83, but still very active. He did the Rim to Rim hike of the Grand Canyon when he was 70, ran marathons when he was younger, and still played golf frequently.
I wanted to get the garden ready for planting yesterday, but the 35 mph winds that we've been having made it a bit unpleasant.

So...the original plan was to leave this morning for Palm Desert, driving the truck down so we ca bring a patio lounger with us and bring the ebikes beck to Portland for summer. That plan was made when it was raining and cold here and it was 80 degrees in the desert.
It was a good plan.
But now it’s nice here and it’s 100 in the desert. We still have to be there by Weds for appointments/work on the condo, but I think we will wait to leave until Sunday morning. Depending on the heat we might not stay too long. So...trying to go with the flow, whatever that means.
Lunch with thirty or so school bus driver retirerees. Should be strange.

Yesterday was beautiful, second day in a row without rain, so grass had to be cut, got about a third of it done.
Gray today, more mowing, some shopping.
Better days y'all

John didn't get it formatted right, but we are supposed to vote for the paragraph we like best. The winner will get printed up and tucked into every mug sold from the "Table Top" collection.
