Most participants at IdiotJam don’t wear hats. Doug was an exception. He always wore a broad-brimmed hat with a USMC pin. I think he slept with it on.

Hat Test.
At 9:32, I put on my wool hat that is identical to Todd's and pointed the brim to the south. At first, I just experience a vast emptiness. Then I saw an image of a frosty beer and my feet began moving towards the fridge and I grabbed a beer. I felt good. I grabbed a second, and I felt even better. Then I wanted some popcorn to go with the beer. I tried grab some Orville Redenbacher but my hand bounced off the jar. Then my hand moved toward a bag of really tiny white popcorn called Tiny but Mighty. It took nearly half the bag to fill my Stir Crazy, but it tasted real good. Then I went to bed.

This is skin-cancer country and doctors advise wearing hats. I do. My 25-year-old Tilley finally wore out and I now have a replacement. My old fedora wore out and Cabela's no longer carried it, so I'm doing without.

Does everyone at idiotjam wear hats? I don’t recall anyone but Doug wearing one on stage. Larry Jensen wore a cap. And Lonnie.

You can’t be self conscious with a hat, you have to own it. When I learned how to do that, then I started a hat collection.
