The big storm came through the Carolinas yesterday. Lots of rain and wind, Then it stopped. This morning is clear and calm, 55 degrees. Seems like Fall finally blew in.

Frost overnight. Frost, I tell ya'! It was 86 here just 4 days ago. I think we have seen our last temps in the 80s for a bit, but who knows? Have a good one.

Good morning.
Lost power at 12:50am but it came back about 3. The rain has stopped and the sun's out but the wind's still blowing. I don't see any big trees down or other damage but I will get to start building my next burn pile. I see lots of smaller branches laying around. Saw some pictures on FB of a camp site around here somewhere that took some damage so maybe I lucked out. My friend down in N.C. posted that the "Temporary" roof on his condo from the last storm proved temporary thanks to the winds from Michael. They're in temporary housing probably for the next 6 months 'til their condo is fixed up.
Having lost sleep due to the power outage, I suspect a nap is in order, soon.
Enjoy your Friday.

Mornin'..... Lots to do today. Barb is having her left knee replaced next Wednesday, so lots of preparations for that. Wrapping up details for playing a set of Christmas music at the annual recipient Christmas dinner at Saint Luke's. And the list goes on and on..... And a possible light snow forecast for Sunday.

Wow, it's 7:00 and it's just barely getting light. Winter is coming, but, it will be 70 here today so it's all good. Breakfast with the in laws today, then off to Newberg to meet my daughters new kitten. A cat. Where did I go wrong?

A year ago, on Friday 13th, Thomas and Britney were married. Their first child, a boy named Graham McKay Baker, was born on October 1st. He got the middle name from a John McKay, who was killed in WW1 at the age of 19 and forever remembered by his family. Thomas’s Mom, Sally Wainwright-Baker, is from the town of Leicester in England. She met Rob when they were both working in Australia one summer in college.
My son and Thomas have been friends since they were 4 and 5 respectively, 27 years ago.

There are hints of sunshine out there, and I am off work, so after a few errands, I may drive north along the St Croix for an emergency foliage-viewing adventure. Won't have to go far before hitting spots where the DNR says the colors are at their peak.
Had something funny happen yesterday at a Thai restaurant: I asked my server if they had a wine list, and he smiled and said yes, but didn't produce anything, so I said may I see it, and he merely gestured to show the whole room. We went back and forth a few times before it became clear that he thought I was asking if they had wireless.

Dark and stormy. Got 1/4 inch of rain overnight and it's just starting to rain heavily. It's what's left of Sergio, the hurricane that nobody is talking about. Not looking too good for our plans to go to the Patagonia (AZ) Festival tomorrow. Maybe Sunday.
Looks like a good day to play some guitar and assemble my new desk chair. Ordered it earlier in the week and picked it up on the way back from Tucson yesterday. It will be nice to stop worrying about my chair falling apart while I'm in it.

Good morning. It's cloudy here with a chance of rain, akin to Renee's weather. The usual Friday chores await. After a week of pleasant activity I'm ready for a quiet day. Enjoy yours.
