Less crappy today due to the hint of actual sunshine. It is ever so slight but it could actually be the sun. We are not 100% sure yet.

It's cold. There's ice in my pool cover.
Went to Walmart yesterday so Mary could pick up a 2019 day planner which should have been a couple of bucks. Got out of there for $115 after she started walking around the store throwing stuff in the cart. I knew that would happen. Eh, it's only money.
Got no plans for today. Maybe I'll get some guitar practice in. Maybe I'll watch the Army Navy game and root for Army.
Happy Saturday.

Up and awake. After walking the dog and driving kids around to dance, I'll run through set 1 in preparation for band practice tomorrow. This will be the first one with the new drummer and guitarist present. I'm looking forward to it. Yes, I spent 27 years in the Army. No, I don't get all excited about the Army-Navy game. Yes, I respect the student bodies of both schools for their choices to serve. Thing is, I've always considered that game just another college football game between two schools I didn't go to. USNA is actually more "close to home" because my Dad was teaching there when I was born. Roger Staubach was one of his students. How cool is that? (Todd, Roger Staubach, after serving his tour in the Navy, became one of the NFL's most successful quarterbacks. )

38 years ago today I was watching Monday Night Football when Howard Cosell broke the story to millions of us, John Lennon was gone.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception today. 16 years of Catholic education hardwires that kind of stuff into your brain.
The nuns used to say “the sun always shines on the Blessed Mother’s feast day “. Damned if it isn’t shining as I write this.

Mornin' isalmostgone..... Back. All is well. Not much time right now, nursing home gig in 30 minutes. I'll slip in a quick photo from an impromptu duet on Thursday night. Sorry, too much crowd noise for video.
We did O Holy Night and Jingle Bells. Sandra works in the transplant clinic.
