I will be getting away from my computer today and as my son's helper is off today I will work with him in Universal staking anchor plates at a new ride that took the place of the Transformers show.
Only problem is it's going to be mid 80s or above.

Good morning.
Gee, it's raining. Nothing new about that. The sun came out for a few minutes yesterday afternoon but I guess it was just a trial run. 26 days 'til Spring but that brings April showers as I recall. At least it's not snow. Ambition will be difficult to find today. Maybe I won't even look for it.
Happy Friday.

Good morning. Drinking coffee and trying to get my sore muscles working after spending half of yesterday removing snow from the roof of my house. Off to Wisconsin within the hour, both grandsons have February birthdays.

I am heading to the casino where I will put $35,000.00 on roulette number 12. It might seem risky but they are giving me a free buffet so that kind of evens things out. It is hard to see how anything could go wrong.

Good morning. We got an inch of rain yesterday and Flagstaff got about three feet of snow. Our rain should end this morning. I'm ready. Have a good day.

Absolutely beautiful morning here. Sun, lots of new white everywhere. Above zero. XC skiers are going to be orgasmic.

Still giggling over the Richard Smith workshop and concert. Got to sit with him and play for him a little before the workshop. Nice to be gently complimented by the best. Putting a sad damper on that is the death of Nick Cafardo, who until yesterday was my favorite sports columnist. He understood and appreciated the Red Sox better than anyone else. A solid spot in my day to day life. Sad. Packing to go to the Winter Acoustic Music Week. Leaving in a couple of hours. In Groton Mass, just south of Boston. A 2 hour drive I guess. Should be clear sailing. Some good friends and music to catch up with. This is the winter cousin of SAMW. Both an event created by WUMB, the Boston College radio station.

It is awfully pretty outside. Full sun, clear blue sky, and a light coating of fresh snow that fell overnight. The landscape is fresh and brilliant.

Had fun last night at the Vancouver Aquariums chowder off. 14 seafood chowders, and a bunch of craft beers to go with. Most excellent, until Susan slipped and fell on the way back to the car, and did something bad to her foot. Probably heading to emergency this morning.
Supposed to be snowing, but it's not. No gym obviously. Might be work this afternoon.

I had a very good business meeting this morning, but I missed the medical appointment with my wife and her physical therapist. It was to learn how to accommodate her after her upcoming hip replacement surgery. My wife has a bone on bone joint with pain so bad that she typically just stays in bed after work. I cannot wait for the surgery - there are few things as frustrating as watching a loved one endure pain. Onto happier news: It is the birthday of my sweet, 4 legged buddy, bird finding machine, Loretta. Now age 9. With the 7 dog years per human year math, we are now the same age. Got an e-mail from the woman who runs the open mic asking me if I'd do a 2 hour brunch gig at the restaurant on a Sunday in March for $50. I had to tell her thanks but I can't play for 2 hours and don't know if I ever will again. My hands tend to cramp after half an hour or so. Nice to know I'm still wanted but I think I'm out of that business permanently.

It was my brother-in-law’s funeral today. You know, there are a whole lot of good people who live around here.

The traditional path is from the side (or back), the newer method is from the front (stick your hand in your front pocket and wiggle your thumb). The older method is easier, but cuts more stuff on the way in, so more recovery and rehab. The new method requires more skill, but is less 'invasive', so recovery is easier. Mine was a combo, since they needed more space to do some bone grafting on up from the hip socket (I'd broken my pelvis). I have a friend in the US who had the VA do his (frontal), and they sent him home the next day. I was up and putting some weight on mine the next day, but due to the nature of things here, spent a good four weeks in hospital, doing twice daily rehab. It's been a couple years and it's working fine. Mostly, I never think about it (forget it's there). A couple adjustments--sitting cross-legged is still a challenge, and I usually lean against something when getting my underwear/pants on.

Had 3 beers on Friday. A late rally. Quite nice Milwaukee brews. Lakefront Eastside Dark. Yummy. No cheddar aftertaste.
