Marshall and others, my movie drought is largely due to differences between my tastes and my wife's. I'd suggest seeing a movie. She'd nominate a couple that I had no desire to see. I'd suggest a couple that left her cold. We figured out that we should find other things to do with our time together. There are plenty of things we do agree about, such as hiking Horton Creek.

I thought "Aquaman" should have gotten best picture and it wasn't even nominated. Hmmph! We didn't get nominated for anything either, epaul. I know Dradtke turned the the video of us at one of our better Hobo Haus gigs into a docudrama and submitted it to the panel. We looked marvelous, and Tamarack was splendid in emoting his Valkyrie persona. What the hell happened?

Take her to Aquaman. It's a movie that neither one you is probably interested in seeing, which makes everything fair and agreeable. If you both don't agree afterwards that it was fun and you're glad you went, just let me know and Todd will refund your ticket and popcorn costs... and maybe throw in a little extra for your trouble.

We go see 4 or 5 movies a year. Generally ones that work well on the big screen, like LOTR, or Star Trek. We watch a lot of movies at home on pay per view. I love the experience. I just don't hear the noise from anyone around me.
We did have a group of teenage girls behind us at a movie a couple of years ago. One was providing whispered commentaries to her friends. Continuous commentary. I turned around and asked in my best grumpy voice, "do you mind." Just about inhaled her popcorn. And she shut up.

Well, we have issues too. There are some that are off limits for each of us. But in general I'll concede to see most anything that is highly rated. If I want to see movies like Avatar, I'll have to see it myself.
