Good morning.
Nick my manual labor guy is here weeding and mulching. He brought his wife and 3 kids with him. So far, his wife has learned how to drive the zero turn mower with cart to haul the weeds out and pick up the mulch. The kids are cooling their feet in the pool but didn't bring swim suits. I really don't want them to think Nick's job is fun but I think that's what they think. His wife was all smiles driving the mower around. I don't want them to think I'm actually rich because I have neat toys either.
Happy Friday. I'll try to do some string trimming myself. The electric trimmer isn't as heavy as the Stihl one I used to use.

There is nothing scarier than having a black squirrel with a fox-red tail skitter across the trail 5 feet in front of you. Except maybe nookyoolar war. That might be scarier.

Saw echoes in the canyon last night. Jacob Dylans production. I loved it. Wife didn't. Great music though. My favorites were the youthful enthusiasm of Jade and the wonderful Michelle Phillips watching the young folks reproduce her music. She was enthralled. David Crosby was crusty and entertaining. "the rumors I was kicked out of CSN for artistic conflicts is bullshit. I was kicked out because i was an Asshole.' I recommend it to any music lover who remembers the 60's.

Um, walking in the woods barefoot, wearing shorts and a tee shirt and stepping into a big nest of ground bees is pretty scary and pretty painful.

I buy ground coffee but I've never bought ground bees.

It's been a good day. After some chores of the sort I don't mind, I spent an hour visiting with two old friends from music circles. The conversation was far-ranging and fun. I did some reading and came across this line: "Living life is somewhat unfamiliar to us all." That got me thinking. Maybe everyone is as mystified as I am.

Do you remember a year or so back, Hawaii received a false alarm that N Korea had launched missiles and they were incoming? Nita and I were in Maui at the time. I can assure you that imminent destruction is way scarier than a fox or a squirrel. Mike

The black squirrel is a red squirrel with a color deviant, which means you can compare it to albinism. When I went to Iowa City frequently about 15 years ago I saw all kinds of weird-colored squirrels. I thought at an Indianan you would be aware of this.

In one day in the woods I've seen gray, gray with a red belly and tail, black, black with red tail, and Dar swears she's seen an all white. My woods has a very diverse group of squirrels. If you happen to sneak up on the right day, you can catch them sitting around a small round table under a big walnut tree playing poker.

He gets all the nuts 😎 he can put all those nuts in his abode and that he doesn’t have to work.
