FB is down. Does this mean that I have to make the effort to call or email family and friends?
The cooking frenzy begins in about 2 hours. Breakfast was 10 grain cereal and fruit. It's downhill from there.
Much to be thankful for. Not the least of which is getting moved to Tucson and being close to good doctors when I need them.

I'm particularly thankful today for operating ovens. YUM Have a good one, my man. Me, too. A repairman who lives close by took pity on us and fit us into his very busy schedule yesterday afternoon. He had the part on the truck and was able to fix things and get us back in the saddle of turkeydom in about 35 minutes. He was my last ditch effort yesterday and it all worked out. Never heard of the guy before yesterday but he is now on my list of dependable people to call first. It is like the Great Turkey Spirit was watching over us. I may still do the turkey on the Weber, but at least now we have an oven to use for everything else. Whoopeeee!! WOO HOO ! I can smell the pies from here ! (They don't call it the pie hole for nothin')

Just got back from Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant. It was really good and reasonably priced. As an added bonus, the cornbread stuffing was the closest I've ever had to my stepmom's recipe. Awesome.

A lovely dinner, a lovely day, and ages 8 to 83 represented, all related to one another. Much frivolity, many reminiscences, familial love in the air. And the roads were dry, clear and not too crowded, yay.

A Thanksgiving Blessing
We receive this food in gratitude from all beings who helped to bring it to our table, and vow to respond in turn to those in need with wisdom and compassion.

We were headed for Chicago but weather and a sick wife ended the trip in the cities. Back home tonight where the only food in the house yielded a feast of Tilapia, green beans, and a cookie. Oh yeah a Stella too.
We were too proud to go to one of the free church dinners for those without a life.

Well, I am so sorry that you were unable to reach your destination, but am so glad you are OK -- I was quite worried about your journey with the weather forecasts that were being proffered.

Da Bearz always play Da Lionz on T-day. No. It always used to be the Packers-Lions. I think they rotate it now. Should be an exciting example of Keystone Cops Play Football. We'll see who makes the last mistake. Turns out Brothers Osborne won.

You know, we had a great Thanksgiving this year. Sure, it was at my stupid-in-laws, but her husband passed away suddenly last winter and that has changed things, including her. She still set name tags for assigned seating, but that was OK. She had the men's table and the women's table. Us as the men's table not only stuffed ourselves, but laughed ourselves into tears several times. That's what getting together with family is all about.

Great Thanksgiving here. The attendees included my wife and three kids, my in-laws, my sister-in-law and a good friend whose wife died last spring. He's a frequent visitor to our house but he's a vegetarian. We don't ordinarily invite Those People for meals. No politics were discussed. Our differences as to Buffalo vs. Dallas were glossed over tactfully.

Had a thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat, to steal a phrase from Arlo. At home now watching the Saints manhandle Atlanta. Mike A story Arlo Brief one. I saw Arlo in Woodstock MA. I went to his house to get some pot. Now that was a long time 1968 before the Woodstock one. I saw both Woodstock’s. He had Woodstock stories. I talked with the blind judge. His judge was in Alice Restaurant song. I didn’t have to worry about my long hair. 😎
