Vikes looked lackluster last night and deserved to lose, but I'm OK with it, as it will make things more festive tomoro while feasting with my sister and her son, who are huge Packer fans. Still "warm" and calm here, should be an EZ drive to Sconnie, taking back roads over, freeway back. I hear O'Hare and Midway are both closed due to fog? Not a good day for that to happen! Bill, I would love your feedback on my post above about the Indy Star. How many people would need to screw up for this to happen? One guy at the printshop selectiing the last file downloaded instead of looking at the name. Consider it an early present

It is sunny and 46°F here. Every page of today's Indianapolis Star says it is Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Each of the comics carries the date 12-25 and their content indicates that they were intended to be published on Christmas day. The "Today in History" column says "Today is Wednesday, Dec. 25, the 359th day of 2019. There are six days left in the year. This is Christmas Day." I am curious about what they will publish tomorrow. Hey, do they stock prices posted? Can we make money on this? Mike It is a Gannett newspaper. They don't even bother with stocks. Other than the comics and a couple of advice columns, they have dropped all content that they have to pay to publish.

As for every page having the wrong date, that would be a little harder to explain, but a lot of those "folio" elements are highly automated and all it takes is someone to make one typo and the error can be repeated and repeated and repeated ....

Happy Christmas Eve all you lot! Just got back from fresh food shopping - a mob scene, people running up to wish me the best and wanting to talk for half an hour ... drivers all nuts. Later the Jensen-Graham clan are arriving for our traditional Christmas Eve lasagna. Hopefully my cub will show up too. You never know. Plan on nothing much tomorrow. Have had a head cold for the last seven weeks so I need a rest. Back to work on Boxing Day. No rest for the ancient. Not complaining. Life is good. Hugs all around. Hey Bob - my thoughts go to you. You're a trooper and this too will pass.

It was announced on the front page. Maybe the Star is doing the same. It is probably not a mistake at all.

This strikes me as a printing press error -- with early holiday deadlines, a lot of the features copy gets printed even earlier than normal, and so I'm guessing the wrong plates got attached to the press for the pages in question. My guess is that they will run those pages the same way tomorrow and add a box explaining what happened the previous day and directing readers to their online paper for the missed Tuesday stuff. Every page, from page 1 straight through had the wrong date. I just hope someone who is going to die later today didn't read their obit. Gannett is prescient that way.

Oh, well, if you miss a day of the Star you haven't missed much.

Our local paper doesn't publish on December 25th. Taking a Marshall Day, I suppose.

Well I showed up for Doc's appointment yesterday only to find I was a day early . Went back this morning and then out to do last minute shopping, mostly drinking stuff. Now I get to hang until time to cook dinner, which is a strange one because I asked all my girls what they wanted most for dinner. Well I knew Kaiah would say Mac & Cheese and Zaria liked that idea too. But DaWife is not a big fan of any pasta and she said she hasn't had fried SPAN in a awful long time so what Grandma wants Grandma gets. I'll make that Mac & Cheese on the stove top and then bake it for a while. Fried SPAM and honey glazed carrots take no time at all. The 3 kinds of rolls I'll be baking in the morning are what take time. Pine Island 72F. 86 Days til Spring.

Just got back from the earliest church service. Now it feels like Christmas. A packed sanctuary despite the rain.

I’m mad. I was practicing the power of positive thinking, but at some point you have to give in to reality. What am I talking about? Well yesterday I woke up with a stuffy head and a productive cough. I hadn’t been sick in so long I was sure I could just tough it out, and I’d be fine. Today it has just gotten worse and now I’ve lost my voice, which sorta kills the evening plans of going to the neighbors and making merry, as no one wants to hang out with a obviously contagious dude who can’t talk. Damn it, I was looking forward to this. Now I get to hang out with the Dachshund instead, which is ok, but she tells me the same stories over and over.
Mike
