Good morning pickers, strummers et al :-)
I’m still very sick. Physical not my brain.:-( At least I have single room in Marin County hospital. I have virulent infections in Mexico. Still coughing blood and I have nightmares dreams. The doctors are hoping to figure it. I had so many tests. 10-4

I am exhausted. I just changed strings on TWO guitars. I probably won't be able to do anything else all day. I once heard a story about a guy who changed strings on THREE guitars in one single day. He couldn't be revived. I hope the glory was worth the sacrifice. He got the headstone he wanted. I'm sure there are a few young guitar players out there who think that they too could someday try the feat. Ah, the hubris of youth.

Good morning. Foggy but that means it's relatively warm.
Does everybody have a junk drawer in the kitchen that collects random stuff you have no immediate need for but think might be useful someday? Mary removed a mirror from her jewelry box sometime to use for something somewhere but wants to put it back on now. She can't find the wingnuts that hold it on. Not being present at the removal, I have no idea where they might be. As a last resort, I just emptied and went through the contents of the junk drawer. No wingnuts found but I separated the batteries and thumb tacks and assorted hardware into separate plastic bags, organized the remaining stuff and put the drawer back in. This is not my usual practice. I think I'm getting old. There sure was a lot of stuff in there I have no idea about that went in the trash. I'll probably need some of it next week.
Happy Saturday.

I don’t know what the weather is like today. I am up & still 80% sick so I am not as concerned about the weather as where my blanket is. I am sick of being sick. Over and out.

Good morning.
37F/3C Cloudy/rain/sleet.
Rained early this morning and then froze into a sheet of ice covering everything. Won't be going anywhere and I don't think I'll be having any customers either.

Wow, the streets here are pure black ice. I've been sitting here for an hour, and not one vehicle has passed my house. At some point I need to venture out to the nearby supermarket and pharmacy, but it can wait. I have eggs and coffee and yogurt -- I shall survive.
Russell, Terry and ePaul, please check in (those boys are in the path of serious snow and wind, supposedly).
Thirty degrees and glaze ice everywhere -- the ERs will be busy, assuming ambulances can get to those in need.

Good morning. Our hot water heater decided to malfunction. The plumber's busy. It's one of life's little gnats. Enjoy your day.

When I was at GC, I started each day changing strings or doing setups on 2-3 store guitars (in my store, all of the high end guitars were in good playing order). I think I must have changed strings on well over a dozen guitars on Black Friday. And you haven't truly had a nightmare string changing experience until you've changed strings on a Gibson or Epiphone 1275. 18 strings total, and the headstocks are close enough together you can't use a stringwinder on 8 of them.

Looking out the window I see a dusting of snow from overnight, just enough to cover the dirty layer and make everything pretty. The ice doesn't seem to have hit us yet, but maybe some of that heavy fog has settled and frozen. I'll know when we go out on errands later.

That looks like a job for the Dremel low-profile, offset, right-angle string-winder extension attachment. I thought every tech had one in his kit.

The season's first freeze is predicted for tonight. That will annihilate our basil plants. I've been harvesting basil leaves, washing them, drying them and freezing them. The internet says this will work so it must be true.

I thinking you wait until tomorrow morning to harvest the leaves a bunch of your work is already done. Wash them when you thaw them.

Well, I finally ventured out around 3 after the plow trucks had spread salt around noon and the snow/sleet turned to light rain. An ugly day, and I was not productive at all, other than plundering all kinds of YouTube videos.
My local stupormarket has expanded its deli from offering rotisserie chickens in various flavors, to meatloaf, and today, I noticed big roasted bone-in turkey thighs (one per container), so I took a chance and brought one home. A little salty, but really tender and juicy. I might be a repeat customer! Fresh greens counteract the sodium, no?
