I found a Tascam US-144MKII in an unopened box, purchased sometime in the early part of the last decade. It's an audio/MIDI interface. It comes complete with a "DVD-ROM" with Cubase LE 5, and the manual references Microsoft XP and Vista. I wonder where a microphone might be. Check and see if there are Win7 drivers for it. If you are running Win10, when you do the install using the old drivers, right click and select Win7 compatibility mode and they should work. |

The advantage of name brand stuff is they usually have drivers for discontinued products on their website. I downloaded the latest drivers (from 2014) and they appear to work just fine. Which is good, because I'm not sure if I can find a DVD drive to hook up to the computer. |
