"Sperm" of the moment deal? Hmmmmm. Do NOT take me literally! I know that. I also know you have a wonderful sense of humor. I was just messing with you.

Now I’m awake. Here’s a little early music. No clapping - no throwing squishy tomatoes

It’s a great little video but I can’t figure out how to put it on the website.. Thunderstorms, a faucet, lightning

Yesterday was bird day at the Bauman ranch. Morning coffee was serenaded by a loud cardinal perched in the spruce tree over the porch. Soon the bobwhite made a return engagement on the front maple and stayed in the neighborhood literally all day (by afternoon he was in the Chinese Elm across the street in the nature preserve). Bob-WHITE! At lunchtime the hummingbird that's been buzzing our patio hostas showed up again while a dazed robin fledgling rested on the concrete below regaining her senses after hitting the back porch window (all's well that ends well. She eventually flew away). Then last evening, just after the mourning dove's ocarina evensong, the crows blew taps. Crows aren't particularly good buglers. They're much better conversationalists. John, if you ever make a 3 quart covered baker in a shade of red with a blue undertone (think cranberry not orange red) or royal blue, please notify me. That’s what I want. When Lar died I decided to no longer collect Polish Stoneware. He made all but the last purchase of those pieces. I need a large baker and want to coordinate it with those pieces. Pictured below are the colors in the pieces I own to use as a reference if you are able to make that piece.

The first monsoon storm came in with a bang last night. Got the alert on our cell phones just as it blew in, so it was a surprise to everyone, including the weather dudes/dudettes. A dust storm followed by lightning and about a tenth of an inch of rain. The temperature dropped almost 20 degrees. Ferocious winds took out some tree limbs that were big enough to block the road at two places in our neighborhood. And a huge tree uprooted and fallen over the walking path around our little lake. Many smaller limbs down. No damage in our yard or to our house, but I did rake up a lot of branches and leaves and mesquite beans this morning. Clouds are now moving in for the next round.
On to calmer things. Mr. H made pancakes for breakfast, which we had with an assortment of applesauce, mixed berry jam, syrup, some leftover whipped cream cheese, and homemade yogurt. Couldn't do better at IHOP even if we were willing to go. I'll be viewing an on line church service soon.

I don't think my supper tonight of Polska Kielbasa and sauerkraut washed down with a cold bottle of Tyske will top the feast you described above, but I am so looking forward to it, that I can barely stand it. LOL! "Sperm" of the moment deal? Hmmmmm.Do NOT take me literally! Nor should you take him liberally.

Renee, I'm envious. Tucson always sees it sooner than we do.

Today was walk the fence day. Me, the jeep, stuff for cutting down mulberries and grape vines, rubber gloves and Tordon. Living in the country can require some work, but it was beautiful weather and I got to spend it outside. It might be 85 out there, but with little humidity things were perfect.
Dexter used to join me on these trips. I do miss that guy.

Lots of rain just moved through. Looked like Iowa rain to me. Sky is clearing so it could be a nice day. We will see. Enjoy what you can and ignore the rest. If all your trees are still standing it probably wasn’t the storm that passed through here yesterday afternoon. On our street our back yards go down into a heavily wooded ravine. Yesterday half of a huge tree in our neighbors ravine section broke and crashed into two other trees taking out part of our shared fence and barely missing our new deck. The whole neighborhood’s been working on cleanup since 9:00am. The storm also caused a general power outage in our quadrant that lasted from 6:00pm until 2:00am. We stayed up until we had power to run our CPAPs.

Today was walk the fence day. Me, the jeep, stuff for cutting down mulberries and grape vines, rubber gloves, blowtorch, jellied gasoline, various poisons, anti-mulberry fungal cream, whisky for drinking, and salt to pour in the ground near mulberry trees. Dexter used to join me on these trips. I do miss that guy. Destroy as many mulberry trees as possible. Do not let satan’s fruit take hold.

What's the problem with mulberries? We have one and they're common in our neighborhood.

Once was enough to learn that you don't hang your laundry out if you have a mulberry tree.

Yeah, there is that. Our walkway out back turns purple from bird droppings for a while every spring. I think it's kind of festive.

I had no idea you had that happen south of us. I hope you and your neighbors are OK by now.

Remember that Tanya Tucker song Strong Enough To Bend?
That was a great hook.
