It appears that I am also here. Just laying around in my bed with my right leg elevated as much as I can get. Swollen significantly from the knee to the ankle. Getting quite annoying. Plan right now is to go to Oklahoma City for Christmas at Shay’s. But first a trip to Wichita on the 15th to meet with a rheumatologist and hopefully get some answers on my knees.

You need to branch out and play in A. Capo on the 2nd fret and use G forms. I've done that, but not a lot. Hammond and I had a discussion several years ago, which I always keep in mind. He said that he is a guitar player who sings, and that I am a singer that plays guitar. That's stuck with me in a good way. When it comes down to things my voice is my strong suit, so when it comes to keys, I think of my voice. But I do realize that mixing up keys is important in terms of not everything sounding the same. When I play for the cows outside in the summer or to myself in the winter, I do try to mix things up, and have followed the rule of no more than two songs in a row in the same key. Aside from G, I'm also comfortable with D and A, so I do make an effort to incorporate those. I was joking about branching out. Reach for the sky but know your limitations. I know you speak fluent guitarese in at least 4 keys.

With your low voice I think you'd like it too, easy to play and cows love it (and some horses)

Well, I am safely ensconced in Elderdottir's Airbnb, a cozy, beautiful cottage next to their house. It was another brutal day of driving -- dry roads and tolerable traffic for the most part, but nine hours and I HATE HATE HATE the stretch of I-40 between Knoxville and Asheville, all sharp curves and semis and concrete barriers mere feet from the left lane, and asshole drivers everywhere, tailgating and jumping lanes like crazy, and then masses of cars near Touristlands like Gatlinburg, etc. When dottir and her hubby lived in Weaverville I could bypass that stretch, which, she reminded me tonight, I could do on my way home without adding much time to my drive and lowering my blood pressure dozens of points.
Yungerdottir VERY ready to have her baby -- hope it happens while I'm here!

I on the other hand, love those big hills and curves on 40 approaching Asheville. An adventurous driver's dream.

True. Only if you are the most hardy of road warriors. I usually encounter them coming up from the Spartansburg airport. A simple 2 hour drive.

I haven't driven farther than across town (5 miles) since mid-March. Our Outback is going to get fat from lack of exercise.
