Good morning guitarists an accordion and a pianist
Turning On the Light The technique of direct liberation is comparable to being afraid of a monster in the dark and then turning on the light. When the light goes on we see that there never was a monster in the first place, that it was just a projection of our own mind.
Enjoy your days
peace

That means we may have winter.

No snow to be seen in Grand Forks. Up at the farm I can still find some in the woods, but it is basically, so far, a snowless winter. I suppose out of every ten winters we have two that have us wondering if there will be snow by Christmas. I can't recall a snowless Christmas in northern MN (the southern part of the state will be snowless at Christmas every once in awhile, maybe 20% of the time).
Right now, it is nice out. Today is sunny and upper 30's are expected. Good weather for fine-tuning the Christmas lights and adding a little extra mulch to the flower beds.

Last night went as follows.
We decided Wednesday night was the night to put up the tree. We ask the kids to bring up couple of boxes of Christmas decorations. I jokingly tell them to bring up the tree (a big, unwieldy box in in charge of because I am in charge of moving big, heavy things).
Boxes arrive in the living room. I go down to get the tree... and there is no tree. I check the other basement room: no tree. I check other storage areas, racking my brain to figure out where I might have stashed the tree.
Then a thought occurs to me. "Hon, do you remember last January when we decided that the tree had outlived its useful life, and we should toss it and just get a new one next year? I don't either, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened."
So, a new tree is on its way. Decorations deferred to a later date.

Morning everyone. Cold here. But sunny. We are going for a real tree this year. Might get it tomorrow. We need some groceries. Will try using the Safeway app for curbside pickup later. The app is a pain in the keister to use, hard to find the normal products I buy in the store, but with the current spike in the virus...
Hey guys. I’m feeling really sad about Don. I always thought I’d get a chance to meet him. But. We (the forum) have lost a lot over the years. What do you think about establishing some sort of memorial spot on the forum for our departed? I just, I don’t know.

Sunny and nippy with a good breeze. Garbage and recycling day, always cathartic and exciting. Our county has lost 40 people from COVID, mostly in the last month, and new cases per day have kept us in the top ten in the state for the last few weeks.
Shop work, a brisk walk loom.

Very windy all night and still very windy. Predicted low of 32F tonight. I'll need to move planters to the patio to keep basil and mint from freezing. Chile relleno casserole is on tonight's menu, probably with corn tortillas and leftover homemade salsa fresca.
Just finished wrapping gifts. I'm terrible at that kind of thing. They look like the gift wrapping version of the Charlie Brown tree. They look expecially forlorn because we haven't put up the tree, which is an artifical one currently somewhere in the garage.
Had church choir rehearsal on Zoom last night. The director informed us that he would really like us all to record 2 songs by Saturday. So that's my project for tomorrow. Today I need to play some guitar.

It is so cold even the squirrels are wearing fur coats. It was so cold in New York City this morning that all of the attorneys were walking around with their hands in their own pockets.

I got almost a full day in the shop with just a few short breaks. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but that tunnel is damn long.
A few weeks ago I would get really tired after working for a hour or so, big change the last few days.
The guitar I finished up yesterday has been here well over a year, same for the two I am presently working on. Take heart Russel, finishing up your old Martin is in sight.
It's a good thing that I like making bridges because I have a LOT of bridges to make. One of them needs a Guild type bridge, tough one to make because of the pointy bits.

Alright, Marty! You will get there.
After some fruitless searching in the garage, we realized that the Christmas tree is in a closet in the house. It can't take the summer heat.

What do you think about establishing some sort of memorial spot on the forum for our departed? I just, I don’t know. It's a great idea, and one that's been bandied around. It's like belling the cat, though, in that no one wants to go through the sadness it would take to follow through on such a thing alone. If anyone has any good ideas on how to get this started as a group, please speak up. We do need such a thing. We can and should do it.

I went into work this morning at 6 am in the morning only to find that today was my day off. PO has rules about too many days in a row. I signed Dar up for medicare.
