It's hard enough when I get tired and have to take a break every hour or so but with the shop being a bit too cold I get a half hour at best. And the guitars suffer if I let it get truly cold because the humidifier can't keep up.
I found the radiant heater and got it on in one corner of the shop with a fan next to it to keep the air moving. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get some work done.

I'm more thankful than I can express that we've had the mildest winter in recent memory. I'm working outside every day and so fat it's been very tolerable. So far the biggest grace is the lack of wind. I can suffer single digit cold without wind far better than I can 30-40 degrees with wind.

You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever...
Here in the hard land of the winter I go for days on end without leaving the house except to walk the dog. Last week I didn't drive anywhere for five days. Weekdays are silent and still with work pressures as Dawn works on the first floor and I work on the second floor. Fortunately the silence is broken by visits from granddaughters -- we have an ever-expanding box fort in the basement. (And a fearless almost 3-year-old who loves to play in the snow)

You must be a more sensitive ass than I. I never even notice the cold on my butt. Oh, and I hate it when I get in somebody's car and they put the seat heater on. Real quickly I become sweaty and uncomfortable. Our cars sit in the garage. It's not heated except 2 walls abut the house and there's a bedroom over the top, so it's not as cold as outside until you open the garage doors. But soda pop left in the garage will freeze and rupture the can. Beer seems to do quite fine. My Infiniti is the first car I've ever owned with heated seats. Also my first with leather seats, have always preferred cloth. Now I wonder how I survived (although a hot black leather seat in summertime can be a bitch). I have heated seats. They come on automatically when the temp is below a certain level. I never leave mine on very long. Barb loves it on her side. It does warm a person up quickly.

If spring isn’t sprung before long, my mind will be sprang. I am ready to go after that damned groundhog.

The idea sounds nice but I don’t recall ever thinking that car seats should be heated.

There are cars with heated steering wheels so your hands won’t get cold. I want heated mirrors so my image is hot.

I don't have a back window in my Jeep. If I remember correctly, Dratdke, when he had a Jeep, didn't have one either. Those things have darned good heaters, though. If you don't drive to fast and you are wearing Carharts, it's not a bad drive at all.

Getting a little nippy Up North:
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A weather station in the Boundary Waters recorded a temperature of 50 degrees below zero on Saturday, which will be a record low for Minnesota for Feb. 13 if it is verified.
The negative 50 temperature was recorded at a station about 25 miles east of Ely, Minnesota Public Radio News reported.
If verified, it would shatter the state’s previous record for Feb. 13 — which was 42 below zero, set in 1916 near Grand Rapids.
The overall state record low is 60 degrees below zero, which was set near Tower on Feb. 2, 1996.

Are groundhogs squirrel wannabes, or is it the other way around?
