The last week of July starts now! 96% humidity right now with temps heading to 90. It should be a good day to go up on the roof around noon. Stay cool and dry today.

If you were here, you could say "Evaning!!!!!!" Out for another bike ride, cooked another dinner. Too bad you can’t attend the Olympics. The women’s road race was interesting. No race radios allowed and the first chase group didn’t know the winner was up the road solo. Silver medalist thought she won.

Good Morning Good People
Hot and humid again. Today marks the first day of High Summer, as demonstrated by a Full Thunder moon, noisy night critters, green fields beginning to turn brown, and abundant tomatoes, sweet corn, and blueberries.
Off to church, then a long afternoon with granddaughters. The three-year-old loves water and it will be a good day for getting wet.

Good morning. In a few hours we'll be off to the Flagstaff area for a week. It'll be mostly 50s-70s there. Yesterday it looked like we might have to make the whole drive in heavy rain but the forecast has been tamed down. I wouldn't be surprised by rain delays but it should be okay.
Keep on the sunny side if there's any sun around.

Good morning My girls will be back later today but until then I have things to do. My usual Sunday breakfast at The Little Oven, I'll be there at 10 to anyone interested. Then I'll do some grocery shopping just to fill a few gaps in our larder. A few days ago I stopped in our Pharmacy for test strips for my glucose meter, $47 for 25 strips. I ordered them on Amazon $27 for 100 strips. I'll have my GP give me a prescription for them and then they will be dirt cheap.

Rain again. Got an inch yesterday and almost an inch so far today. I'm enjoying the cool temperatures and high humidity. Feels like Hawaii. We sat out after dinner last night. That's unusual this time of year. Mr. H thinks we're going to church later. I'll be driving, so I get to decide. He doesn't drive in low light conditions. A friend in Green Valley (near Tucson) had a power outage from 10:00 PM Thursday until just after midnight Saturday morning. Lots of downed power poles. This article sort of describes what's going on with our weather, except that there are no tropical storms involved. www.wrh.noaa.gov/twc/monsoon/July2006/LateJuly2006HeavyRainEvent.php

I just woke up. Ugh. I don’t like mornings. My biological rhythm- I really like afternoon and evening. Enjoy your day anyway.

Up. Tired from yesterday’s parties, had great fun drinking wine, schmoozing with neighbors, and eating pupus. Didn’t get to bed until 11:30, which is late for this old guy. Light bike ride this morning, then…maybe nap time.

The, um, punchline paragraph of the Jackie Mason obit in today's WaPo: “I don’t care about money,” he told the Los Angeles Times in 1987. “I give it to the families of my three brothers and two sisters. We’re very close. I have enough to last me the rest of my life. Unless, of course, I want to buy something.”

Another day, another art fair. We cornered the art world ! Drove 45 minutes to the Geneva art fair and bought 2 paintings from a guy that (turns out) lives a mile from us. And one painting from a guy from Cedar Rapids. I can’t post photos direct from my phone. More to follow later. Lovely day. (Kinda hot). Asked for a discount while “bartering” and got $500 off on everything. There was some REALLY nice stuff there, but out of our price range. I really wanted to support the local guy. I really like his stuff. And it’s reasonably priced for the size and effort of the works. PS - There was a woman selling 3’x3’ canvases of stark off-white or gray or pale blue paint for $3k each. - Really ? ? ?

The Goodyear blimp is in town, providing aerial camera shots for the 3M Open, which finishes up today. Then it will head off to Oshkosh, Wis., where the annual EAA AirVenture fly-in kicks off tomorrow.
I got a ride in one of the Goodyear blimps years ago. I remember being surprised by how noisy it is in the gondola, and also how steep the takeoff angle is.
