Every time when I go to the Internet to find recipes. And then I’m going to get a shit load of ads. And then I get calls - unsolicited. And I have to delete a few items. I don’t like on the unsecured social media. There are secure forums/websites. The next time I’ll just do everything ‘cut & paste’ - no links I’m sure you have some kind of those problems as well

Somewhere you went you gave your phone number. I never get calls like that. I have Facebook always asking for my phone number to secure my identity.

I didn’t put my number - www.allrecipes.com/ I only gave them my email But I’ve been looking for electric trikes - websites I actually did it with a Affirm website bank - my number and my data - and they give it to other companiesThere’s a lot of companies that are not secure. Sometimes they say "we are secure - positive!!" But they’re really not secure.

We've had threads on computer security and privacy. I know i've held forth on the subject more than once. I'll see if I can find any of them. I'd rather not have to compose all that stuff again.

Nope, don’t have any of those issues. I use all recipes all the time. I’ve never given them my email, phone or anything else.

So why did you write the thread? Were you just bored? You should try Jeopardy, eh? They'll be more security & privacy threads

Bob, you won't get a lot of responses by chastising everyone who does respond.

I am unhappy with unsolicited contacts. I responded to an on-line Harley ad for the new Sportster-S. I said they could send me an email. I gave an email address for my purchase items. (Not my friend email address. Not my music email address). I specifically said “email me.” I did not give my phone number. 2 days later I got a call from a Harley dealer. I singed the ear off the young lady who called. I specifically said, ”Do not call me!” I never gave my number.
They track you down.

Bob, you won't get a lot of responses by chastising everyone who does respond. Rob I not chastise everyone. Sometimes my humor is a little snarky (I make an attempt & I deflect my humor) You could write the paragraph differently. It would be more understanding. It's my syntax /language and it could be ageism - here has these problems too. Usually when I start a thread - really pay attention. And then I check somebody's response. And I usually do it a few times before I will respond another time. And I'm really glad that I saw several responses. It was good communication. I'd like the response to be changed a little bit. I'm not saying which response it is but I think you know.... I wish your response will be gone. You can't do it - it's like a piece in chess. When you leave your finger. You have to leave it alone. You made the wrong square in the board. *We actually had a good time at iJam 2011 - we was roommates in motel.* I'll forget about that ludicrous unintelligent remark.....

Marshall "They track you down." I understand that.
There's lots of companies have personal data from people. Egads!
There are few companies are qualities/principles

I enjoyed this thread. But there was one memo... "chastise" it was the misleading thought. I guess anybody can say words.... Sometimes words hurt people
