So jetlagged - actually travel tired - I can't sleep. Guatemala was a great vacation for Patricia and me. 'Twas a joint celebration of our 60th B'days, she did it last Sun and I'm not far behind. Antiqua is a lovely old colonial city full of courtyard homes, hotels, B&Bs, shops, etc. The usual teeming "artisan" mercados, and delightful inexpensive restaurants - even the local McDonalds has a courtyard with a volcano view! And obviously did NOT eat there!!! Also spent 5 days on Lake Atitlan in 3 different towns, Panajachel (known by the locals as Gringotenango), San Marcos, and Ibalita, including a couple of eco-B&Bs built into rockfaces hanging over the water. One of the places we stayed on the lake, Casa Del Mundo. Next up - our private roof deck at The Aaculaax. And another B&B, this one in Antigua, as it looked almost 300 years ago. And today, from our room, out to the courtyard.

What Evan said. Wow Bob! It's a beautiful place that would have never occured to me to visit. What made you decided on there?

Wow, Bob! Reminds me of Missouri!
Kinda. Is it 34 degrees there, too?

John, Don't you be talking about Missouri! If folks find out it looks like those pictures, all manner of miscreants, neredowells and dang touristas will move here! I know! I'm one! Paul

Good day, sports fans.
Golly gee-whizzikers, it just occurred to me that I played three hours at the Wedding Faire on Wednesday night, played last night with two others for a couple hours at a songwriter thingie, have a two-hour gig tonight with Barb, a three-hour solo gig on Saturday and on Sunday I host an open mike, which involves playing the first mini-set.
I guess this explains why I can't even remember the last time I took out a guitar at home and played just for the hell of it.
Oh, well, not complaining.
Happy Friday, all. Payday for Bonzo here.

Good Morning Good People
Partly cloudy and cool here, pleasantly autumnal. Quiet in the city today, mayhem up north as 600,000 hunters hit the woods yesterday for firearms deer season (a religious ritual for some)
Bob -- wonderful pics from Guatemala! During our brief trip to Guatemala in 1992 I was struck by the abundance of wild plants that we consider house plants in North America. I think we set foot in the same convent in Antigua.
Have a fine fall Friday one and all.

Very cool pictures ! My Grandmother on my father's side was from Guatemala.
I am a bit excited as tonight I will be recording Mozart's Requiem. Went to rehearsal last night to figure out how I will set up to record, and sat their just listening in awe of the musical piece itself as well as the 150 plus artists who were performing it.
Have a great day all !
Take Care, Gene

Good morning. Cool one here in Florida. Gonna get down into the 30's tomorrow night. Supposed to have a nice day for the Florida state high school band tournament tomorrow.
I've got some work and errands to do, open mike tonight.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Since I bought the Eastman I've had an itch to hook it up to my PA. I have a Fender 250 that has not been in much use since we moved to Dallas. I really need to get off my arse and use it as I like that thing and acoustics sound so much better through it than an amp. It has so many uses it's a shame to let it just sit there.

Gee Bob.
I didn't think they had cameras 300 years ago.
Maybe it a lost Inca thing.
(morning)
Gee Bill. I've been feeling kinda thesame. Seems like I'm always busy and the playing I'm doing is always for some specific purpose. Takes some of the fun out of it.

Been crazy lately, but hanging in there. Coffee's almost finished so I'm off to hop on the bike to go to work. Nice photos Bob, the patio by the waterfall looks like a place to spend a month!
Have a great day everybody,
Paul
P.S. Gene, where did you find a NeXT logo? That's so 90s!

Good morning.
It didn't snow the 10-15 cm it was supposed to snow. It is cold but not really cold.
I'm a little stiff from all my exertions yesterday hauling wood. I guess I must have moved a cord twice. I had a blast. The heat from an airtight fireplace is a lovely warm silent heat.
DLouse, I hope you feel better this morning. I remember the first days of my own experience very clearly. It passes. Hugs. Don't forget that we are all here and we care how you are doing. Please don't be a stranger.

P.S. Gene, where did you find a NeXT logo? That's so 90s! There was a discussion a while back here about Mac's and NeXT, so for nostalgia purposes I brought it back...If you want more detail PM me as I wouldn't want to bore all with the details

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers yesterday from many of you. For those of you who have know me for a while, you know it has been bad for a very long time.
Yesterday I offered what I thought was a very fair separation agreement, but I am now officially Darth Loase. I have order the black suit and breathing mask.
I know that I will survive and in the long run be better off for it, as will my daughter, but for the next year or so it is going to be very, very bad.
