Private Messages in Soundhole Cafe

The private message will be slow. Sometimes it takes three hours. The website has batch for a certain amount of message. Sometimes you need to find communication with a person. So it's not really normal velocity.

Email is almost quickly. It's just more normal. And of course text is even better.

That's why I want to get emails - not the private message

Does that make any common sense?

It does, but it's not the way everyone chooses to communicate. The best way to contact a moderator is to Contact "Moderators" using a PM. That will guarantee your message reaching all of us so you can get a quicker response. In other words, if you responded to this post, any of us could reply.

Bob, moderators aren't obligated to mix their regular lives with their Soundhole lives, and one way to keep those separate is to use the Soundhole for moderator correspondence and email for our own personal stuff. There is no obligation or requirement to do otherwise.

We are, however, approachable. You can use Moderators or contact any number of us through personal messages. That is our Soundhole obligation, and your option. I apologize if you aren't happy with that response.

You can set it to be your INBOX. Just click the down arrowhead next to OUTBOX and change it. PMs that have not been replied to are kept in the Outbox until they are replied to.

Bill and I communicate via PM all the time, it's very quick.

The person you are trying to PM must be logged on the forum and see the notification balloon on Messages or have their Profile set to notify them via email when they get a PM.

Now that I've mentioned things you can do to your Profile. DO NOT  just randomly mess with it. It is possible to delete yourself if you change the wrong thing, I know this first hand, when this forum started I was Martin (MN). In learning what I needed to know to be a Admin and be of use to our forum I did a LOT of exploring. I did manage to delete myself and had to reenlist and get Cribbs to give me my Admin status back. I did a major STAFU another time but managed to fix that one by myself. But that is because I got handed the job with no training. Something our current Mods don't have to do.
